Swiss broadcaster SRF has announced that they will internally select their artist and competing song for Eurovision 2024. This will be the sixth year in a row that SRF has chosen internal selection over a national final, a strategy that has seen varying levels of success for the central European country.

In both 2019 and 2021, Switzerland reached the Top Five with Luca Hänni’s “She Got Me” and Gjon’s Tears’ “Tout l’univers”. They achieved lower placements with internally selected songs in 2022 and 2023, though not as low as their results during the national final years, when Die Entscheidungsshow yielded four non-qualifications in a row.

The song submission period is open from August 10 to August 24, giving Swiss Eurovision hopefuls two weeks to present a song that can win over SRF’s panel of regular listeners and their 25-member jury of music professionals.

The public will not not hear the winning entry until early 2024, so for now: bonne chance, viel Glück, and buna fortuna to all who apply!
