Earlier this week, we asked #YOU to vote for your favourite songs of the first semi-final in Norway’s annual extravaganza, Melodi Grand Prix. The results are now in!

There seemed to be two pretty clear favourites in this semi-final, suggesting the third slot in the 4th February finale is very much up for grabs; the two front runners according to #YOU are Ulrikke’s “Honestly” (with a staggering 52.2% of the vote) and Alessandra Mele’s “Queen of Kings” (31.1% of the vote).

Third place in our poll narrowly fell to Rasmus Thall with “Tresko” (6.7%), which would mean he takes the last place in the Melodi Grand Prix final. Here’s how the full result pans out;

  1. Ulrikke – 52.2%
  2. Alessandra Mele – 31.1%
  3. Rasmus Thall – 6.7%
  4. Eirik Næss – 3.3%
  5. Kate Gulbrandsen – 3.3%
  6. Umami Tsunami – 2.2%
  7. JOWST & Brandon Williams Jr – 1.1%

This result would mean that 2020 representative Ulrikke would continue her dream of finally making it to Eurovision, whereas former Norwegian performers Kate Gulbrandsen and JOWST would exit at the semi-final stage.

Melodi Grand Prix 2023 begins with its first semi-final tonight from 19:50 CET. #YOU can watch live from NRK’s website HERE.
