Rybakina has to be one of the unluckiest players to ever grace the court, everytime she comes to a tournament in great shape she gets either injured or sick

That was an interesting Indian Wells :

Very happy to see Iga win it, honestly it's the first tournament of the season where I'm 100% satisfied with her performance, she played amazing !

Great to see Sakkari/Witt working so well, hope this goes on well and that Maria can keep on rising

Disappointed by Sabalenka's performance, must say that since her AO win she has some issues getting back to her best, hope she has a great Miami tournament

Congrats to Alcaraz too who proves that IW's surface just corresponds him perfectly (I'm a bit annoyed tho to see a hard court surface be as slow as clay)

Medvedev had a great tournament too but yeah that surface is too slow for him to beat Alcaraz

Also : to @JSSArcos and all the other tennis fans, what do you think about this project they have right now of making a "premium" tour that would go on for 20 weeks and only allowed for the top 100

I think it's pure bullshit, and that would definitely kill a tennis that is already struggling with these shit decisions that the ATP, WTA and ITF tend to make

Alright let's talk about Miami

First of all huge congrats to Collins for winning the best title of her career the year she retires, her tournament was impressive !

Really sad for Elena (needed a full day to not hear the words Miami or tennis to get over that loss lmao) who had a lot of opportunities in that game, still think it's impressive that she made the final while she couldn't train and prepare for the tournament beforehand

For Iga : again she's struggling on these faster courts, she's by far the best on slow courts on on these kind of fast ones (Indian Wells was as slow as clay and Miami in terms of speed is like the Australian Open) she tends to panic and lose her game quite fast, she has to improve there

Also I hope Aryna gets better mentally and can come back soon after the devastating news (I think it was a mistake to take part)

For the men, congrats to Sinner on finally winning Miami and becoming world N°2, I don't think it's a stretch to say he's the best hard court player at the moment, I'm very curious about clay

Dimitrov was stunning, his game against Alcaraz made me think of the same Grigor who once beat Murray in 3 sets in Wimbledon, the same guy who won the ATP finals and Cincinatti, world class !

Clay season will be interesting

What a week this was in Stuttgart

Thrilled to see Elena win another tournament ! She's so strong when not injured, her game against Iga was a true classic, love these two players, their game was an absolute delight to watch, hoping for a remake in Madrid

Must also congratulate Kostyuk for her great week, her games were almost all thrillers, especially the ones against Zheng and Gauff

I'm also quite worried for Aryna, she looks very distracted on court, and she barely smiles anymore, it's obvious that she's in a very bad place mentally, and I hope she'll get better

I hope y'all really followed this WTA Madrid tournament

First of all : MY GOD THIS FINAL, what a game ! Huge congrats to Iga for the win and congrats to Aryna from rising back from hell and finding her tennis again after everything she went through, the game was legendary, an absolute thriller, a pleasure for every tennis fan

Rybakina/Sabalenka in semi final was also an absolute gem

These three players are really a blessing for the WTA and I hope we'll have a lot of games between two of these three in the following weeks, months and years

Rome will be epic, and Roland Garros I hope even better

Borges seems to be having a great tournament, after that magnificent Australia Open, he needed a good ATP tournament (he was having good results in chaleengers, but on the ATP circuit he was producing a very weak tennis, with the exception of the Estoril Open I think).

Having said that, being packed is a big danger, I believe he will fight Zverev today.

very attentive this week also to the CHALLENGER of Oeiras, Rocha and Faria, fill Portuguese tennis full of hopes for the future

Forgot to comment about Rome (12 days M1000 are getting kinda annoyed and lots of stuff happening in real life), so to resume it quickly : Iga was impressive and I don't see how anyone (except Rybakina if she's healthy but yeah she was sick during Rome) could beat her, she can become the 3rd player to win Roland Garros 3 times in a row after Henin and Seles (I think ?)

Also big congrats to Zverev for winning and puting himself in great mental condition before Roland Garros

Talking about Zverev, we have the draw of this Roland Garros and the best thing that could've happened happened

2 years ago one of the best games I saw was in the tie-break of the 2nd set after 3 hours of play, and the worst image I ever saw in tennis happened, an injury that could've been career ending for Zverev

Now we're two years after that game, Nadal is playing his last Roland Garros and Zverev is still hunting for that first Grand Slam, and they'll face each other in the first round of Roland Garros, the moment for the German to get his revenge

It's poetical

(I'll develop more about the draws in another post, but I just HAD to talk about this)

1st day of Roland Garros yesterday :

WTA :

- Kudermetova is the first seeded player to get eliminated, she's so inconsistent that it's not even surprising tbh, same for Krejcikova, no idea what's happening to her lately

- Solid game by Anisimova, I was surprised since Sramkova is a very good clay player

- Got scared for Garcia, but she ended up making it

ATP :

- Yasssss Zizou Bergs, so happy that everything is working out for him now, excellent performance beating Tabilo

- Horror day for Chili yesterday, after stunning everyone in Rome they're all out now, Jarry losing against Moutet was unexpected to me

- Humbert is another seeded player who's out, but tbh he just had a really unlucky draw

- Respect Mr Nishikori, no matter who you face in your current state it's impressive to win a 5 sets game, and also nice nostalgia game between Wawrinka and Murray

- Alexandrova out too, solid performance by Tomova

- Great comeback from Andreescu and very enjoyable game from Svitolina against Pliskova

- Iga starting her tournament well

ATP :

- Good job Sacha, very solid game for him, respect to Nadal who played way better than what I expected, goodbye to the king of clay

Yesterday :

WTA :

- Elena and Aryna went pretty fast, as did most of the seeded players, I was curious about Elena since she hasn't played in 3 weeks, was pretty satisfied overall, she wasn't very good but for a first game it went well

- Cornet's farewell got me pretty emotional to be honest, I also cried during the qualifications when Thiem and Schwartzmann said goodbye, emotional Roland Garros so far

- Very happy that Mertens managed to beat Carle, that was an extremly tricky game

- The seeds who lost yesterday were Cirstea and Boulter, but no surprises there, Blinkova and Badosa were the favorites imo

ATP :

- Omg Goffin, feels so good to see him play well, and I absolutely loved the way he provoked the public after his win, never thought I'd see him do something like this a few years ago, loving this new David

- Apart from that the seeded player who lost is Mannarino but yeah we know that this guy doesn't really give a shit about Roland Garros

Lot of rain yesterday so only had a few games :

WTA :

- Iga girl you scared the shit out of me, great performance by Osaka apart from the choke at the end of the game, she's slowly coming back, from a tactical point of view Iga fucked up yesterday but thank god she has that champion mentality, she'll have to do better next tho

- Garcia.... yeah what a horror game, Kenin didn't have to do a lot 'cause Garcia would put everything out of the court, Kenin had a solid defence tho so yeah congrats to her

- Jabeur's performance was not promising, but well at least she made it, good job Coco too

ATP :

- Very surprised by De Jong's performance against Alcaraz, okay Carlitos won but I expected him to destroy the Dutch, really promising performance

- Solid performance by Tsitsipas, Altmaier is very tricky to play in Roland Garros

Oh boy yesterday was crazy

WTA :

- Sabalenka went very fast again, Rybakina went fast too even tho I still think she didn't play well at all, hoping she'll be better against Mertens, that'll be a test

- Talking about Mertens, very solid game from her again

- Exceptionnal game from Danilovic against Collins, Tauson was great against Ostapenko too, hope to see these two finally gain consistency this year (even tho Danilovic is pretty much a clay only player)

- Andreescu where tf did you come from again ? That's impressive

- Very solid performance from Stearns too, beating Kasatkina after winning the Rabat tournament last week, she's having a good season tbh

- Absolutely LOVED the Andreeva/Azarenka, and sooo happy to see Andreeva win, also really liked to see Vekic beat Kostyuk (and currently leading against Danilovic)

- Pavlyuchenkova being eliminated is a surprise too even though Bogdan has been doing well lately

ATP :

- Yeeeeees Zizou Bergs, so happy to see him in the 3rd round of the GS, he deserves it so much

- Crazy games with Ruud and Rune yesterday, both might have lost Roland yesterday tho, especially Rune

- Musetti was impressive, same with Zverev, happy to see Goffin take him to the tie break in 1st set tho, really hope to see a good Goffin in Wimbledon

Yesterday :

WTA :

- Wow Danilovic, what a fight by her once again, I'm so curious about her game against Vondrousova tomorrow, the latter won pretty easily yesterday

- Iga and Gauff won pretty easily even tho the American had some issues to finish the game, both will also reach the quarter finals easily

- Shocked by Samsonova's loss against Cocciaretto

- Very good games from Jabeur and Tauson

ATP :

- Rublev ? Pretty sad about his loss, congrats to Arnaldi for an exceptional performance !

Boy what a day and what a night that was :

WTA :

- Elena and Aryna won in 2 sets again but I'm really not convinced by their performances so far, against Svitolina and Navarro they'll seriously need to up their game

- Excellent performances by Avanesyan and Navarro

- Andreeva is impressive, also very happy to see Paolini make it

ATP :

- What a game between Musetti and Djokovic, and seriously man, 37 yo, plays 4 hour game until 3 or 4 in the morning and still manages to wins it, Musetti has awoken the beast, and now the beast is very hungry

- The Griekspoor/Zverev was something too, I really like the Dutch but was rooting for Zverev, and man it was close, big mental strength from Sacha while Griekspoor kind of choked

- Bergs is sadly out, but his tournament has been absolutely astonishing, he now definitely gets into the top 100 ! Congrats to Dimitrov

- Great game between Medvedev and Machac, happy to see Medvedev win but also very happy to see that Machac is getting better and better

Well yesterday was not really crazy xD

WTA :

- Everything that was expected happened, well Iga... just doing Iga things basically lol

- Gauff was solid, I liked Vondrousova and Jabeur's games, thought they were good but yeah all games went as expected basically

ATP :

- Kinda same ast WTA, I'll just point out Arnaldi and Moutet's performances who managed to win a set against Tsitsipas and Sinner

Yesterday :

WTA :

- All the favorites made it again, happy to see that Elena and Aryna raised their level, they can still do better tho

ATP :

- Congrats to De Minaur for making it ! Medvedev looked unwell and maybe injured at his leg, hope it's not the Madrid injury back

- Djokovic is such a warrior, he was so done, so done, but he managed to find the ressources to still win (well Cerundolo kinda fucked up, if he didn't choke he would've won)

- Zverev is really talented in the way to complicate his games alone, he could've won that in 4 sets but well, at least he made it

WTA :

- Good game between Jabeur and Gauff, but we saw why Gauff has a GS and not Jabeur, mental strength, Jabeur could've won that game but Gauff was more solid mentally

- Iga is ridiculous

ATP :

- Sinner and Alcaraz won easily, can't wait for their semi

- Very sad that Djokovic withdrew, that makes his win against Cerundolo even more admirable

- Congrats to Sinner on becoming the new world N°1 ! He's the best player in the world since 8 months or something, fully deserved !
