I don't think they want to participate anymore in light of the situation with Israel and Gaza so I think they'll just take the word of the winner - who will probably say no or be pressured to say it at least.
Maybe in case the winner refuses someone else will go??

They have to be careful because they've probably already paid or at least agreed to pay their participation fee, which for a country like Iceland would probably be a lot of money for them - however their own population want them to boycott now...Well, the article says they "...intend to participate without any changes, but we don´t know what the furture holds." If they didn´t wanna do it at all anymore they would´ve announced their retirement already.
But I still think this will be a storm in a teacup in the end.

Perhaps, we'll seeStill think they´ll participate in the end.
I actually think the opposite. The broadcaster mainly got pushed into this position because artists and songwriters were vocal about their stances. Now should the winner of the NF still decide to go, they would get a looot of scorn and pushback from their peers and I don't think anyone would really want that.Still think they´ll participate in the end.
