Apparently, Hungary wants to host two Eurovision events next year: Eurovision Young Dancers & Eurovision Choir of the Year.

Hungary is aiming to host the 2023 editions of Eurovision Young Dancers and Eurovision Choir of the Year while the country hosts the European Capital of Culture.

Whilst both formats are more "conservative" or should I say, "tame" than Eurovision Song Contest, the question clearly arises if Hungary will also be intersted in being part of ESC again. I´ll keep my fingers crossed for Hungary to return!

There's absolutely no way that we will return to ESC in the near future.

We just had this anti-LGBT referendum that got the support of more than 3 million Hungarians: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Hungarian_LGBTQ_in_education_referendum

It's safe to say that the national Hungarian TV won't participate in a show that promotes LGBT rights. If anything, the government is probably planning to double down on anti-LGBT propaganda because it's clearly working for them.
