Welcome to another FSC Spin-Off!
Welcome to this FSC September 2018 Spin-Off featuring many favourite songs by top male artists
from , all over the world . Our host city is : Santiago del Estero, the province capital of the same
named province in northern Argentina. It has a population of around 253.000 inhabitants , making
it the 12th largest city in the country. It has a surface area of 2116 km², it equals 817 square miles
The city lies on the Dulce River, & on National Route 9 , at a distance of, 1.042 km north-northwest
from the Capital Buenos Aires. Estimated to be 455 years old, Santiago del Estero was the 1st city
founded by Spanish settlers in the territory that is now Argentina. As such, it is nicknamed "Madre
de Ciudades" (Mother of Cities) , & has been declared the "mother of cities and cradle of folklore."
After a series of exploratory expeditions from Chile starting in 1543 Santiago del Estero del Nuevo
Maestrazgo was apparently founded on 25th July 1553 by Francisco de Aguirre . Although it is the
oldest city in Argentina it preserves little of its former Spanish colonial architecture, except for sev
eral beautiful churches. The city stands in the centre of a large but oft semi-arid agricultural region
Santiago del Estero houses the National University of Santiago del Estero, founded in 1973 , & the
Universidad Católica, founded in 1960. Other points of interest worth seeing for visitors are : Sant
iago del Estero Cathedral, the Santo Domingo Convent, the Provincial Archeology Museum, Plaza
Libertad, Santiago del Estero Cultural Complex, & the Monument to Argentine hero Gen. Belgrano.
Of the city’s newer more modern buildings the tall ‘Complejo Juan Felipe Ibarra’ stands out. 105m
and 75m high , the two tall glass-buildings house local government offices & agencies. The city is
home to numerous important Argentine artists , & is a place of culture and history. Its musical her
itage, is one of the city's most important cultural aspects , with typical folklore chacarera & zamba
Our Host venue is the Forum Santiago del Estero in Santiago del Estero, Argentina. It
is a multi-purpose Ebition Center , that is intended for meetings, congresses , seminars & con
ventions among other uses. It's located in one of the historic buildings of the city that was in dis
use: the old Miter Railroad station , which was renovated & adapted for new usage . From an arc
hitectural point of view the building stands out because it combines the historical with the mode
rn. For its numerous & varied features, easy accessibility , & its location within the city the Forum
Santiago del Estero , is an excellent venue for developing business, training , cultural , Social and
artistic events . It is also used for musical events in the city , often using the outer facade, of the
building together with a built-on stage and scene , & with an accompanying light show in front of
crowds of eager spectators , enjoying music concerts, and music festivals . The Forum Santiago
