I do kind of wish we'd done a wee bit better, (and I do still highly recommend the Crane Wive's most recent album) if only because I wanted to see one of the local bands do well - but oh well, that's just how it goes. Normally I'd leave off here with a 'witty' pun regarding the next song but, uh, I don't really have one this time - see you next month!

FSC family, thank you all so much for another beautiful edition of the contest and of course for this amazing win for the UK :uk: - our first since we returned to the contest last May. Congratulations to :dk: and :fr: too on their Top 3 finish! Denmark have been on such a roll with so many quality entries this year so I'm glad to see them get a big 2nd place with their beautiful song and France's song was my personal favourite this month so it's nice to see that achieve such a great result!

The UK have now received over 1000 points since returning to the contest last year! Thanks for all of the points in this special month for the UK hred

I am happy you like the song and I wish you to give more info about it.

The song “Pirksti dūrē” has a story and a direct message. As STIRNA, whose real name is Lilita Vīdnere, says, it was written while she was on the Camino de Santiago, when she walked through Poland. “It was a road song for me, when you walk for kilometers and keep the pace. I just hummed, kept to that rhythm, and that allowed me not to give up. That’s how I walked a pretty good distance,” says the musician. She estimates that it was 600-700 kilometers.

She believes that going on such an adventure is a path of self-healing, when “you feel the world in the process and enjoy the process, because there is happiness in it. It is a moment of enjoyment with yourself.”

The musician's stage name STIRNA is no coincidence either. This name has six letters, and "each letter is one promise to yourself, one rule for how to live properly," explains the musician. For example, the letter "s" means to her: keep your promise. Stirna was Lilita's nickname and it means doe in Latvian.

Asked how she felt the moment she realized that the song had become a TikTok sensation, STIRNA says: "I didn't expect it, but I'm happy about it. The first three days were a huge shock, then a huge panic, because I didn't know what to do with all this.

I'm happy that my song can inspire someone and give a positive mood. Of course, we also have to work on the new repertoire."

The countries that ended just outside my top 10 - & my points - this FSC-month, were (in no particular order): :ua::at::fi: Nice entries these too

Thank You to everyone for the votes/points (special thanx for the 12 points!) - and 18th place - for Norway in FSC #196 June. Underrated but I am glad to see some of you enjoyed this melodic Electro-pop song performed in Norwegian language by the young talented Norwegian singer Jonathan Floyd ft. Astelle on co-vocals :)

Here are the Norwegian Jury-votes for FSC #196 June

The Norwegian jury looks forward to presenting more Norwegian music for you in FSC #197 July!
