YAAAY Albania got Last ! After san marino, which might be a weak contestant...or maybe not ? but it sound like they got the best running order...

No one has ever won from 26th place or 25th even for that matter. Sure, it's kind of an honour to be picked to close the show, but by the point we get to the 26th entry, a lot of people are going to feel tired and have probably already made up their minds. This is Albania being thrown under the bus in my opinion. The closing spot is usually given to an entry that has underperformed in the semi but can end the night with a happy bang (think songs like Adrenalina, We Will Rave etc.)

Closing a 16 song semi is great. Closing a 26 song final is very much not. I hope I'm wrong but seeing what has happened here is not filling me with confidence. Maybe Albania have done very well, and they're following on from Ukraine's death slot last year, putting a strong entry in a historically difficult spot? If so though, that's incredibly unfair as this year is Albania's first big shot since Suus.

Similarities are there. In my opinion, I have the feeling they want France to get this, and now there is a big chance that this happens. I think the fact they’ve put Sweden and France next to each other is beneficial for both of them. Actually I dare to say they will place 1st and 2nd in the Grand Final. Tomorrow we’ll find out 🙂

Italy 2015 proved this theory wrong. But the vibe of the song was different.

@lavieenrose mentioned this entry to me when I was speaking with him about songs that have performed in last, but yeah, different vibe (and country) and one song coming top 3 from last place this past decade does not fill me with happiness when thinking about Albania's position.

Obvi Estonia was the biggest threat to a Swedish victory, so ofc they were thrown under the bus as expected.

I think the producers are confident about a Swedish win but they want to make sure that the televote winner gets the trophy this year, so they want to get rid of all televote rivals of Sweden.

Atleast you can vote in the middle of the grand-final - so not all contestants are down!

That's what happens when the same people are in charge of the draw.

Also, maybe just give France that goddam trophy finally so we can be done with this France shilling for the next 10 years.

Estonia is apparently doing very well on the European charts, lots of views and probably did very well in the semi. Their draw feels like continued pettiness by the ebu.

Spain's last 3 years in the draw have been 8-8-6...

9-10, 13, 22-24 constantly being used for the well performing entries (or ones they're pushing) IS GETTING BORING

I don't think we'll see Israel and Ukraine perform in the late 2nd half anytime soon.

Okk why did we get f---- with the running order again??? :cautious:
Also Luxembourg deserves better RO imo.
The producers choice is a scam, we should have random order (draw)
Imagine if Estonian ja Swedish songs were switched, I'm pretty sure Estonia would be 3rd and Sweden later, despite the song.

I think so unless there was suspicious manipulation behind the curtains from a certain country. I feel like Austria lost some steam.
Yeah Austria staging was cool but I was surprised it didn't give me winning vibes as a performance.
It'll still do very well in the jury but I wonder if it might look too much like a movie/music video for some voters.
