Wonder if it ever crossed your mind
That what we had was really unbelievable, unbeatable, a miracle
Why'd you have to go and mess it up?
Why'd you have to make what was unbreakable shakable, unsavable?
And now it's too late to cross your fingers
I'm wide awake and not a dreamer
Hate it, but it seems the dreams were never true
For a little while the fates were with us
Wonder why they had to turn against us
I could make a wish, but there is no use

I can feel
Even though I'm numb
The change to come will hurt someone
I can see
This time it isn't me
I might be the lucky one

I don't need a crystal ball to show me
Baby, it is plain that you don't know me
When it comes to you I'm better off alone (Better off alone)
I don't need a crystal ball to make me
Realize that if I stay you'll break me
Every sign is saying I should be gone
I should be gone

Thought I had a cloud over my head
It had to be my fault that it kept raining down
Until now, I figured out
That if I had the nerve to say goodbye
I could look for clearer skies up over head
Weather says sun instead

I don't need a crystal ball to show me
Baby, it is plain that you don't know me
When it comes to you I'm better off alone (Better off alone)
I don't need a crystal ball to make me
Realize that if I stay you'll break me
Every sign is saying I should be gone
I should be gone

I can feel (Even though I'm numb)
The change to come will hurt someone
I can see (I can feel)
This time it isn't me
I might be the lucky one

I don't need a crystal ball to show me
Baby, it is plain that you don't know me
When it comes to you I'm better off alone (Better off alone)
I don't need a crystal ball to make me
Realize that if I stay you'll break me
Every sign is saying I should be gone
I should be gone

I was among the people that bashed Storm, only to learn my lesson in May. It really was the only song with potential from the 2019 selection and thank f*ck Estonian televoters had the final say and the snob "professionals" weren't able to ruin Victor's chances. That 20th place and 4th semi result were the best we could achieve that year.

Oh great, another one of those pointless NFs where the 2020 representative obviously wins (though I just looked at the split results, I have to agree with the jury for once, the Estonian public has the hots for Uku and I don't get why).

"The Lucky One" is a smidge better than the absolute beigefest that's "What Love Is" and I appreciate the coldwave vibes, but other than that...it does nothing for me. I think it is Uku Suviste himself that leaves me absolutely not impressed and bored by the whole performance, it's been two songs now and I'm absolutely not feeling it everytime he's singing. Sorry Uku dude.

Honestly tonight is the first time in my life that I was so happy that televote existed, Estonian people kings of taste !

Wow. What a surprise.....
This song is fine. Much better than last year at least. Okay, it's nothing we haven't heard before and seems very formulaic - like he used a Eurovision song writing checklist - but I'm glad he has another chance. Since I actively dislike some other entries I'll put it somewhere in the middle. :5: points for now.

Can we talk about how sweet it was to see Jaagup hug Uku after his victory? He directed his MV and also helped him with his staging tonight. xheart The haters should take a note.

All this show had a very positive vibes between all the artists genuinely supporting each other as they all go through times that can be best described as their personal hell.

I am very happy that Uku won and gets his chance for real, now. Especially as he has tried a couple times already and when he finally won ... the corona struck. Last year I despised his corny tripe but I appreciate 'The Lucky One' so I am glad he has a better entry now. It is not something groundbreaking but it oozes class, his vocals are so dreamy too in that, starting from the lowest notes in the beginning.

Wait now the Twitter mob is spreading information about Uku's racism and xenophobia??

Most of our singers took part in Your Face Sounds Familiar, it's not like he did it for his own entertainment. Koit, Elina Born, Ott all took part and did blackface, just to name a few. Most Estonian artists did it. Even the new and hip ones, like Eleryn Tiit. Is it cool? No. Have they all apologised? Nope. But the way the fans only drag the artist they hate is telling. If you really wanna fight racism and xenophobia, this ain't the way to do it, kids.

Concerning his stupid 2019 comment, it was clearly just bad wording and he himself apologised for it in an interview last year. The man barely uses social media, he's not gonna make a post about it ffs.

I'm glad he won. He will be able to have his dream come true.

The song has a nice 80's vibe going on but I don't think it's strong enough to qualify.

But the staging is 100% tacky 80's style. I felt like I was in one of those early 80's videos when people just found out about special effects and they were CRAAAAAAAZY about them. New staging is an emergency right now.
Such a pity that we won't see my Queen Raylee from Norway. This is the only NF result I am mad about so far. And I have only discovered her existence after TIX had already been selected as I don't follow national preselections closely despite being a big fan of the ESC.

Now that was the song that legitimately sounded like something from the 80s but in a good way. And don't forget that antic with water! lmao. It would be sth iconic but we ended up with yet another guy adorned with angel wings no 142457520985686 with average song.

We have a lot of styling and fashion choices straight from the 80s (like in the case of Hurricane) which is actually trendy now elsewhere but actually not a lot of that in music imho at the ESC.

"The Lucky One" is a pretty good song actually, way better than last year's one. Uku winning was also likely anyway, so I'm okay with it and presumably we'll have a tighter competition next year. Really happy that Sissi was second, the show in general was fairly fun and entertaining.

So haven't been following this at all. Just looked now at the performances on Youtube.

Why were these disco ladies backing vocals for at least 2 other acts as well? :D They want to go to Eurovision that badly? Or Estonia was to cheap to perform some additional COVID tests on extra backing vocals?

On to the winning song. I guess it's not bad, but not blowing me away either. Vocally ok, not liking the act too much. I never like it when they feel the need to show only some prerecorded images on screen (part of him in the water). Shows to me they don't know what to do on stage itself so they just throw in some additional images. Imo, it should be forbidden...
