I checked out the official version of Rim Tim Tagi Dim and it's amazing, it's like a completely different song to what we heard at Dora. And the lyrics are so funny. "Bye mum, bye dad, meow cat, please meow back" is brilliant. I think Imma start using that everytime I leave my parents' house lol. In the live version I unfortunately didn't really catch much of the lyrics. Not that he has bad English but his singing just sort of blends with the backtrack too much.

Baby Lasagna is still my favorite but following his vocal performance i'd say that Windows95man is safe on my throne for this weekend unless San Marino does something unexpected

I'm sorry but Let 3 is such a letdown, it's not brilliant chaos it's just a mess. I love Baby Lasagna and Marcela.

Baby Lasagna's dyed hair and his costume look horrible, he sounded flat and overall, the performance wasn't as competitive as I hoped for.

It's still Croatia's best shot at performing well in May but honestly, that performance wasn't Top 5 or even Top 10 material.

Lasagna announced even before Dora that his condition was not great, and that he was working on it. If he goes to ESC, he will have to work on it a lot more. Which is what we saw tonight.

And tonight he sounded too quiet because he says he was too excited and often held the microphone too far away. They suggested that he wear a head microphone in the final, but he said that there was no way, because he wouldn't know what to do with his hands.

Basically, there were mistakes, even beginners, but everything seems correctable to me. If not for the final, then certainly for the ESC.

The victory at Dora is his, but he still has a lot of work to do for the Top 5 position at Eurovision. Fortunately, there will be time for that.

Baby Lasagna's performance was not good, and that's probably flattering.

It seemed like the whole performance was playback and he was just singing a few lyrics here and there.

Definitely not a Eurovision winner. Not even close.

I didn't had the time to see it live, so thanks HRT making the semifinals availabe on youtube, but I agree with everyone regarding Baby Lasagna, best option for Croatia this year.
Vocally he needs to improve, for the televote that isn't usually a dealbreaker but it will be for the judges. Also I would change his clothes, it screams "Käärijä from Wish" and while visually that is what he is giving the song isn't "cha cha cha from Wish" and it can succeed without the comparison.

No.
I'm in no way an expert in this stuff, but my impression is that head mic is only for really good singers.
I have a feeling weaker vocalists always only sound worse with it.

Hm... Very puzzling behaviour to just throw away the fun outfits from the music video. If I wanted to avoid comparisons with a certain Finnish rapper, I would perhaps not wear a bolero...

If it is an audio issue, why did Slimane still sound fine?

HRT is a hotbed of nepotism, where only amateurs work, because they were hired there by family members. They are not able to organize even a village festival, let alone Dora or ESC! To them, the very thought that maybe next year they should organize ESC is a HORROR! Slimane was not a problem in that matter, so there was no need to sabotage him.

I'm very surprised that an act like Baby Lasagna was considered as the 1st wildcard what with Croatia's government being less than socially accepting of such acts, unless they are seen as a parody such as Let 3. The state broadcaster very much appeases the Catholic majority & I've learnt an awful lot about Croatian politics and the corruption that goes hand in hand with it courtesy of knowing people in the country and hearing the stories they've told me.

I'm fully expecting a Sabor intervention of some kind should Baby Lasagna win Dora tbh

Why? I haven't been following the drama and I don't see anything political in Baby Songs performance or song
Not political but it's not the usual inoffensive Croatian entry (bar Let 3 which I've already explained). Croatia is a very Conservative country & (I'm going by what my friends who live in the country tell me regularly) anything with a WHIFF of being pro-LGBT or being perceived as LGBT in any way, they try and erode when it gets serious as it offends the Catholic majority.

I spoke to a few friends tonight & they said they wouldn't be surprised if at least 'comments' are made by the government...

Is the Lasagna gay or why wouldn't he be perceived like Let 3 as more of a "joke"?

No - but I don't like to speculate. Let 3 are seen as a parody in Croatia and an exception to the rule. The Catholic church basically runs Croatia indirectly via the conservative government. It's a confusing situation & it had to be explained to me a few times at first!

Catholics are so weird, man. Men in makeup that are naked all the time and have made gay porn are not too gay, but Baby Lasagna, the straight rocker dude, is too weird and out there?
