I’m living on the bayside in south-east Brisbane.
Matt: I grew up in Brisbane, then moved out to live on the Gold Coast.
I love hearing the sounds of the ocean while I write music from my room.

Ryan: Bacon and egg roll.
Matt: Submerging myself in the ocean. Oh, wait…
Nah, bacon and eggs and a strong brew of coffee!

who looks like a bulkier N’SYNC era Justin Timberlake
and has the most expressive face I’ve ever seen.
In the span of just one song, he sneers, pouts, smiles and more.
Meanwhile, his hips desperately want to swivel like Elvis during ‘Already Gone’,
but there’s not enough room on the stage, sadly. He is magnetic!
No disrespect to the other band members who are fun too,
especially when they say it’s their first time in Austin

A collection of five close friends, a couple of whom wrote
and played together as far back as high school,
this Australian-based folk band keeps flying higher and higher...

The Paper Kites in fact don’t know what to call their sound these days.

“It’s hard for an artist to define their genre,”
says Dave Powys, one of the guitarists for the group.
“We’re always trying new things so each show is different.
We play in complete darkness sometimes, which allows the audience
to focus on the music and put their phones away.”

Yes, I just could not help attracting this company to such national competition,
I hope they will be a strong player here!

Yes, I know that this is not entirely folk...
But my lucky number is "9" and one of my favorite Australian bands!

I think it will be an interesting experiment.

An unyielding enterprise in Australian rock, from day one they’ve worked,
played, written and won at everything they’ve taken on.
Four of their five albums have placed in the top ten of the ARIA charts,
and last year’s tour comprised sold-out shows nationwide...

“When we’re 60 and we’re looking back on our time,
we’ll regret it if we don’t do more. We’ll say to ourselves,
‘We should have sucked the marrow out of the experience,
played as hard as we can, as many places as we could.’
So let’s do it while we’re young and have the energy and still have our hair.”
