After all, the one who started the war is Putin, and that's not why they should be unable to go to Eurovision because their president is a completly fool. What do you think?

Yes, and won't go much deeper into that discussion, but all sanctions make sense and need to be strengthened even further.
FYI majority of russians support their president and the war, I say no more. Also, one man alone can't start a war, if it was ONLY him, there would be no war, let's not be naive.

The Russian national TV broadcaster is banned from Eurovision, and that is completely fair, as they are 100% under Putin's control as far as I know.
Regular everyday people always get the short end of the stick. I feel sorry for both, ukrainians living in danger, as well as russians who are becoming more and more isolated.
But the sheer number of uncomfortable questions and overall toxicity a Russian participant would have to endure this year.. it's just not worth it.
And yes, russians have more important things to worry about than taking part in a tv show that runs three episodes per year.
(We all love this contest, but its main purpose is entertainment of the masses, fans are the 1% willing to explore the bottom of the eurovision iceberg, but the rest don't give a shit until their favorite news site informs them it's coming next week)

This thread and the main topic and narrative presented is wrong on so many levels, just the pure bad taste, insensitive nature and lack of proper understanding of the realities we are in.
Like we have civilians slaughtered by russia on a daily basis, supported even by the majority of russians, and we really discuss if it's "unfair that they can't take part in a music competition, or actually their state run broadcaster can't promote their country and use it as a propaganda tool to whitewash their image to the world"... Like really? Perspectives man!

@Sabiondo is that you? Whoever you are, you have like 4 posts, first starting a thread about that it's "unfair" that Ukraine could do well in contest "due to the war" and now a second one that it's "unfair for russia that they can't compete".
Seriously, what is your end-game here? It's clear you're here to spread some narrative and why separate threads? There are threads both for Ukraine and russia where you can discuss these topics. It's pretty obvious what this account is all about.

it is pure incitement to crime to even think of proposing such a thing
It would be unfair for Russia to take part in an entertainment contest like a walk in the park while millions of Ukrainians are fleeing their destroyed homes and thousands are dying. It would be unfair that Ukrainian participant is struggling with getting to Turin, and even with staying alive; and the Russian delegation would be given the chance to promote their propaganda to Europe.
