I love it. If juries give 0 to this, they should be ditched.![]()
Shouldnt jury appreciate strong voices too? İf not then Austria has to get 0 too.I see what you did there
I mean, we all have some guilty pleasures - but in my naive state of mind, juries should be voting for quality entries/progressive entries or well-produced/written "hits" (I could live without the last category but it seems to be the biggest approach by juries nowadays).
Personally, I think that "Esa Diva" is the least competitive Spanish entry since Soraya - dated and cheap (thanks to the revamp). The original version was still fun (in a verydated but camp and Eurovision-esque kind of way).
But what is left now? - I think it's the strongest contender for last place since "Embers" and "I don't feel hate" in 2021.
(I will be glad for people who like it if it ends up higher, of course). Time will tell, I guess - at least, she can come up with a great performance - maybe juries and televoters will award her staging/choreography efforts...

I wasn’t angry when I first listened to the second version as I never loved the first one. But unbelievably, after some listens this has become my guilty pleasure. I think it now makes more sense than before. It’s a matter of opinions anyway, and I still think this will do very poorly in the final.I'm getting angrier and angrier with every listen to this one. All the over-production in the middle-8 (which let's be honest has never been the best fit in this song, even in the original version) is such a noisy hot mess, but then the production and beats in the second verse sound hollow and empty.
And that basic offbeat bass synth is just vile - like seriously, who on earth thought this was a more coherent package than the original???
I want to continue to love this song and have it in my Top 10, but my anger is stopping me. I'm skulking away now to listen to the original version and spin my weave like a helicopter![]()

The verdict of the bloggers:
Benny - Unfortunately it's not for me. Like last year, Spain is focusing on bland pop with a touch of typical national sounds. "ESA DIVA" sounds pretty dated and probably wouldn't have been fashionable even 20 years ago. Nevertheless, I can appreciate its catchy quality.
Chris - A solid midfielder for me. The revamp seemed rather unnecessary and probably didn't noticeably improve the chances.
Giulia - Unfortunately, I personally cant´do all that much with the Spanish language. I get the feeling that the song is desperately trying to get ahead, and I always feel a bit harassed by it. But I still hum along to it now and then.
Laureen - Two words: Guilty Pleasure. I have to admit, I kind of like this song, even though I find the overall performance a bit over the top, almost humorous. The problem is, Spain means business. Still, I kind of like listening to it. PS: I liked it better before the revamp, when it was only mediocre. Now it's mediocre and loud.
Rick - The original version of "ESA DIVA" sounded unrepresentative, totally forced, and was covered in outdated, cheap pop beats – absolutely terrible. The revamp improved a lot of things for me: Melody's vocal style seems more relaxed, the production sounds fresher, and the structure is less predictable. Overall, it´s really solid, but I still feel like Spain isn't living up to its potential at the Eurovision Song Contest.

For me, it is a big mystery. They could do so much better.I really am so bored by Spain this year. Was this really what Benidorm Fest was set up to produce? This song could be from a Spanish internal selection 15 years ago.
Same argument could be applied to UK which has a great music scene with huge diversity. Big names don't want to do it because it's perceived as uncool. Olly was the exception and look how that turned out.For me, it is a big mystery. They could do so much better.
Spain has an amazing musical scene. Even with a B league singer, they could shine in Eurovision. The show is popular there, the ratings are good every year..
It is all about RTVE team, right?
