Organizational committee related to preparation and hosting of Eurovision 2023 was created in Ukraine on 10th of June. Further, people who are responsible for preparation were appointed. This information was announced by Taras Melnychyk, representative of the government in Ukrainian Parliament.

This information means that Ukraine has started its preparation for the music contest. The front man of the band “Kalush Orchestra” Oleh Psyuk, on the first press conference after the victory, said that Ukraine would be happy to host Eurovision in a happy and rebuilt Ukraine.

On 3rd of June Deputy of Culture and Informational Politics, Oleksandr Tkachenko, announced that Ukraine has received a questionnaire with information what needs to be resolved for Eurovision hosting in Ukraine.

Mr.Tkachenko believes that Ukraine should host Eurovision, there is no hesitation about that. The only concern is that no one has hosted Eurovision during the war. The Ukrainian side is trying to find answers to the requirements that exist, but the Ukrainian team hopes to engage in a conversation with the EBU about changing some hosting requirements.

There is clearly some uncertainty whether Ukraine will be able to host next year due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. However, Kalush Orchestra won Eurovision 2022, and as a result of their victory, Ukraine has a right to host the music contest next year.
