We’re off! Estonia has unveiled its first batch of hopefuls during the first ever quarterfinal of Eesti Laul!

In the short show, the video clips of every entrant were shown in succession, punctuated with short interviews by the hosts Tanel Padar and Ines. Interestingly, Fiona and Me, the fourth act to be shown, were absent, with comedian Tõnis Niinemets being interviewed instead:

This was tonight’s line-up

  • 01. Traffic – “Kaua veel”
  • 02. Jaagup Tuisk – “Kui vaid”
  • 03. Keá – “Everytime”
  • 04. Fiona and Me – “Feels like this”
  • 05. Peter Põder – “Koos lopuni”

Out of these ten, five semifinalists were chosen. Two of the semifinalists were chosen by a professional jury, the other three were chosen by a televote. A symbol adjacent to the name revealed which voting group put the qualifier through.

In the end, the following five were revealed as qualifiers for the semifinals:

As you can see, the first three were the televote qualifiers, afterwhich the juries saved Maian and Jaagup Tuisk.

This concludes the report on the very first 2022 National Final’s liveshow! We’ll be back next week for more Eesti Laul coverage!
