Another day, another internal selected Eurovision song revealed. The Cypriot broadcaster CyBC just revealed that Andromache will represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with her song “Ela” The song was premiered today at 15:30 CET at Óla ston Aéra on RIK were they presented the artist, song and songwriters for the very first time. You can listen to Andromache’s ESC2022 entry HERE on the website of her label Panik Music until Friday, March 11th. On the same day (Friday, March 11), the song will be released in all digital music stores and the music video will premiere on YouTube.
The song is written by a big team led by Alex Papaconstantinou and consisted of: Arash, Eyelar Mirzazadeh, Fatjon Miftaraj, Filloreta Raci Fifi, Geraldo Sandell, Giorgos Papadopoulos, Robert Uhlmann, Viktor Svensson and Yll Limani. Marvin Dietmann and Dan Shipton will be responsible of the staging at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin.
About Andromache
Andromache Dimitropoulou was born in Germany and immigrated later to Greece. She became widely known in 2015, when she participated in “The Voice of Greece.” After the voice, she signed with Panik Records and released her debut single “To Feggari” in 2017. After her debut single. Andromachi released two songsthat she wrote herself: “De Mporo” and “Den Se Dialeksa”. Her next single “Na Soun Psema” became a huge success, surpassing 2 millions of YouTube views in a few months after the release. Her next career step: representing Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022!
Cyprus in Eurovision
Cyprus participated for the first time in 1981. As of 2019, Cyprus holds the record for entering the Eurovision Song Contest without winning. The best placing for the country came in 2018 when Eleni Foureira finished in second place with her song “Fuego,” that still to date is beloved in the Eurovision community.
Last year, Elena Tsagrinou represented Cyprus with ther song “El Diablo”. With her fierce and fiery performance, she opened the Grand Final in Rotterdam. In the end, she finished on 16th place, with a total of 94 points
