UMK is back! And bigger than ever, well the arena that it is in anyway.

Today YLE has announced their plans for the UMK final coming to our screens on the 10th of February 2024.

This year, they are moving from its previous home in Turku to the big Nokia Arena in Tampere. The organisers thanked Turku for being a fantastic venue but admit that it needs to move to bigger grounds now.

Furthermore, 419 songs have been submitted to the contest, but the final remains unchanged with only 7 competitors in it. These seven will be revealed on the 10th of January and their songs in the 7 days that follow suit.

An exciting time ahead for Finland with the Executive Producer of UMK saying;

“Looking back over the entire 13-year history of UMK, I can say that we’re now in a better position than ever before. In the eyes of our Finnish and international audience, UMK has become an unparalleled hit factory and source of top-tier entertainment, whose move to a bigger venue is also served by the massive increase in Eurovision’s popularity.”

Tickets for the UMK final go on sale on the 5th of October here.
