After months of preparation, Luxembourg has selected its first representative in over thirty years.

The Luxembourg Song Contest has come to a conclusion, 8 contestants competed in the final to represent Luxembourg and now its finally known who will represent Luxembourg at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö, Sweden.

Tonight at the Rockhal in Esch-Belval, Luxembourg has chosen its winner, with a total of 178 points (94 from the jury and 84 from the televote), TALI has won the first ever edition of the Luxembourg Song Contest and will get to represent the Grand Duchy in its comeback year at the contest.

The results were conducted in two rounds, with the first round deciding the top 3, while the second round would decide the winner. The 3 qualifiers for the second round were announced as follow:

  • TALI – “Fighter”
  • Krick – “Drowning in the Rain”
  • Joel Marques – “Believer”

  1. TALI – “Fighter” – 178 points
  2. Krick – “Drowning in the Rain” – 165 points
  3. Joel Marques – “Believer” – 136 points

The voting process of the national selection followed the Eurovision voting model with a 50/50 split between the jury and the televote. The jury consisted of 8 countries and provided half of the votes. The televote, which was available on the RTL website and open to international viewers, provided the other half of the votes.

TALI is a 23 years old singer, performer and vocal coach who wrote her first single when she was 16. She is also part of a band currently on tour in New York.

Luxembourg’s return ends a 30 year break, having last participated in 1993 with the song “Donne-moi une chance” by Modern Times. The Grand Duchy is one of the most successful nations at the Eurovision Song Contest, having previously won the contest five times (1961, 1965, 1972, 1973, 1983) and will make its long-awaited return at Eurovision 2024 in May.
