The world famous music festival ‘Sziget-2022’ in Budapest, Hungary is expected to have a line-up of famous artists such as Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Calvin Harris and many others over this weekend. Apart from those world famous celebrities, Sziget is expected to have at least 3 Ukrainian artists well known for Eurovision fans.
Despite being a politically neutral music festival, ‘Sziget’ decided to have a significant number of Ukrainian artists that potentially can raise awareness about the current situation in the world from the stage of the festival. Among them are Constantine, who participated in Vidbir 2018 and the band KAZKA who participated in 2018 and 2019. Further to that, Vidbir 2022 winner Alina Pash is also expected to appear on the stage on 15th of August.
There were fears that artists could cancel their appearance due to the need to share the stage with the Russian DJ Nina Kraviz and a few more Russian artists. It is worth mentioning that Eurovision 2022 winners Kalush Orchestra cancelled their appearance on the music festival “Sea Dance” in Montenegro due to the need to share the stage with the above mentioned DJ.
All in all, Sziget Festival is one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe and often invites Eurovision celebrities to appear on its stage and this year is expected not to be an exception.
