Before you were paying money to vote so had to be more careful. I remember when I was a child and I used to vote in these kinds of shows, I always had to ask my mum and she'd let me vote once for a couple of my favourites. Now with Melodifestivalen it's not an even playing field. It really is unfortunate. Melo has always been about the pop and party, but it also felt like somewhere where everything had it's place. I can't imagine a song like "Songbird" for instance qualifying today. This contest has changed in such a bad way over the past few years.

WELL, all of my "oldies" have cell phones... and they LOVE watching telvision and voting....
And the girls and boys helping them, they help them install the app with heart-voting... :)

My mum is 82 years old, she is better than me using the cell phone apps...

You here in this forum are SOOOO prejudiced toward oldies and young people... xcry1

I indeed see oldies on Grindr too...but the youngsters are still a majority, and more obsessed about "winning" or making their favourite win. I think that's the whole point of using free apps for voting.

The youngster have better things to do then to stay at home watching television... oldies have nothing other to do than to watch television... And then it's a lot of ages between "the oldies and the youngster"... And the majority will decide the winner... WHY the hell did Owe Thörnqvist win the semi last year if it's all up to the sleasy teenagers??? :eek:

This semi was so shit my favourite was Samir & Viktor. I need a chlorine bath after saying that, but there you go. Mimi was good too. The rest were either average (Ida, Stiko and Jonas) or downright awful (LIAMOO and especially Margaret). For the love of blue hell Sweden, you have 2 weeks left to give us something. Hoping for Dotter next week, but at the moment Mariette must be laughing her arse off.

Mariette is performing in the last semi, last in THAT semi.... and last in the WHOLE Mello.... Ofcourse she is laughing her arse off. :D

I kinda like Margaret’s entry.but without prerecorded vocals I can already say it would sound horrific…the same goes for Mimi who already has annoying vocal…uuuuh it’s so irritating..
I can’t watch now Lliamo’s performance, I hope it’s at least smth I like…cause this is shaping into weak final for me, and AC as well :(

I have to go with Joh Lundvk for now..he provided very good vocal, stylish performance of his ballad…

Stiko Per Larsson – “Titta vi flyger” was brilliant! :'(

MF is turning into shite.. :(
Now my hopes are for Dotter…Please be AMAZING, give us Loreen moment, shock everybody with smth differnet and win this farce..
Mariette, is so annoying.. :(

A summary of Melodifestivalen 2018 so far: 50 shades of beige.

The level so far is beyond atrocious, easily the worst edition since I started watching in 2011. What the hell went wrong Sweden? You're telling me that out of more than 2000 submissions the 14 pieces of blandness presented so far were among the best? What the hell is this? The songs from this semi-final were almost indistinguishable in their middle of the roadness. Such a huge disappointment this year. If things keep going like this Sweden deserves to crash on the semi-final in May.
I mean, when Samir & Viktor can actually argue that they had the best song of the semi-final, you know things are going downhill.

I pray Dotter and Mariette save this mess.
