Just to put it out there, big 5 have closed ever year except 2013 and 2016 (2nd last there), and Germany has never been lower than 10 in the order.

Happend what I said... they put Sergey between two songs that are low in the odds...
probably hoping people are not interested in watching the two outsiders and him in between or mixing up the four S - sister, sisters, Sergey, scream.
But eff you Mr Björkman, Sergey will slay anyway! :-)
Good for us, by the way :)

Sweden of course between two slow songs so that it will stand out.

Doesn't have to be. :cz: got the earliest position in second half last year and we placed 3rd in the semi.

True. I‘d even say Norway got a pretty good spot because it‘s early after the break and people are still awake not tired, also after the host country, crowd is heated. Plus, they put them between two very slow songs that are quite low in the odds so that it will stand out. The same as with Sweden.

I see what you‘re doing, Björksands!!! ;-)

I am aware that this has been debated over and over but they should do the two half draw like usual then randomly allocate the places. It's becoming so obvious with who has done well and who hasn't with where the placements are.

1st goes to an act that has done well in votes but they know won't win.
2nd to someone who did fairly bad

7-13 to the front runners for the win who draw first half.

17-25 to front runners for the win in second half.

There are more algorithms but can't be bothered we all know.

For that very reason last year some part of me wanted :at: to win in the final, to show that even if Björkman sabotages the running order, sth totally out of contention early in the running order can win.

Well. We've been wondering about the running order that seemed so strange this year. But it makes sense. IMO (remember, just a feeling of mine) the running order was giving Sweden an advantage over the other potential winners. They saw in the Semi Sweden didn't well with the public so they had to take action.
