“This just got in:
https://www.svt.se/kultur/joost-klei...fornekar-brott

In short: His lawyer says Joost claims he is innocent. There was an agreement between Joost and the production not to be filmed when walking off stage. Camera-person did not respect this and Joost pushed away the camera.

The lawyer has received parts of the police investigation and believes chances are high he will be proven innocent.
Trial in beginning of June.”

Probably not. But up till now it’s still the same story as the Swedish police told Dutch media and the statement of AVRO-TROS.

All other stories we read from tabloids is hearsay.

lawyers won't lie about what happened tho as it's pretty much out in the open. think he probably was too aggressive with pushing away the camera. But it seems no threatening gestures were made, and if that's the case it really is a sad ending of his Eurovision journey.

On the positive side/ Joost overtook angelina Mango today on Spotify and is now the biggest streaming artist of eurovision 2024. He's at #31 of the global spotify weely chart with 19.5M views. Only 3 acts have done better than him. Loreen with 22.5M, Maneskin with 21.5M and Kaarija with 19.8M

more acts are in the top 200 - baby lasagna and Slimane both with around 10M streams.

If Joost is found innocent in June, Europapa will have another huge resurge for sure.

Joost enters UK charts at #37 One place behind Baby Lasagna at #36
Nemo enters the chart at #18

this is kinda shocking as he wasn't even in the midweek charts (both nemo and baby lasagna were)
A Dutch language song in the UK charts... gotta love it

Chart Update:

He's killing it in the charts: UK-37 (third highest eursong) , Ireland-22 (second highest entry) Germany -13 (Highest entry) Netherlands-1 (well duh) Belgium-1 (duh again) Finland-2 (Highest entry) New Zealand (of all places)-17 (highest eurosong entry, only Nemo made it at 29) Greece 66 (worst charting country) Norway-17 (second highest entry) Sweden-4 (Highest entry) Lithuania-1 (Highest entry obv) He's also still the highest charting artist on the Global Digital charts @33 (which is absolutely insane for a Dutch song)

So if/when he’s found not guilty does Joost get an apology in full from the EBU and are things put right by letting him compete next year with a free pass to the final??
And if he's found guilty - do all the toxic fans apologize to Martin Österdahl?

ofCOURSE the EBU won't issue any apology if he's found not guilty. They will stand by their decision, sweep it under the rug by stating it's still a legitimate DQ based on Eurovision rules, and that's that.
I'm not delusional enough to expect something else. Eventually, the Netherlands will withdraw from 2025, will be back in 2026, and that's probably it.

Joost won't come back to Eurovision, who would?

Im just afraid he will be found quilty even if it might be a minor issue. I heard in Sweden they can be very strict even in seemingly small issues.

But his name will be forever connected to him being an women beater.

I read on another forum that someone had relatives and heard it was about an sexual assault.

Ehh, no. The Joost thing is hardly the only thing we “toxic fans” are angry about.

And if Joost is found guilty for some minor thing, then that still doesn’t warrant a disqualification. And even if it did, the way the disqualification in itself was handled, also doesn’t deserve a beauty prize.

So no, I rather stay “toxic”.

Since when was it toxic to want a contest without intimidation and filled with love, light and joy?

That's everything that KAN tried to take away this year. Let's list out their crimes shall we?

- Making derogatory remarks towards Bambie Thug, Silvester Belt & Marina Satti during their broadcasts. The ones made towards Bambie could be constituted as threats.
- Derogatory comments made about the above three as well as Joost Klein and Olly Alexander online.
- Harassing other delegations by filming them without consent and even uploading pictures of them to personal Instagram accounts with again, derogatory language attached.
- Cheering and screaming with joy in the press room when Joost's disqualifcation was announced

The harassment of delegations according to several outlets, and even contestants, was repeated over the course of Eurovision week and was done with malice.

Meanwhile at the EBU.....

Joost does one thing that he perhaps shouldn't have done but maybe he wouldn't have if he wasn't a part of the constant harassment from KAN throughout the week which made him see red and he deserves disqualification.

MAKE. IT. MAKE. SENSE.

That's why we're mad. The sheer double standards from those who write the rules. This has nothing to do with Israel and the political situation, and everything to do with fairness, equality and justice.

Short version of what you write:
„I am right because I‘m right and when I‘m wrong than that only proves that I‘m right.“xrofl
