One of my most streamed songs of 2025.

The vocals were not the best, but you couldn't even hear her? The sound mixing is really bad this year.
I found it much better for Semi 2, but I don't think my sound bar with subwoofer liked the muting effect that EBU was applying over the crowd, as occasionally sections of songs would go muddy - only the live mic feed sadly, since I'd imagine that's what needed the most artificial effects added to drown out booing/jeering/the general joy of the crowd 🙄

I still love the song very much (My 7th place), but this didn't look like a qualifier so i wasn't surprised at all.

I just hope Emmy isn't discouraged and that we wll see her again probably in MGP. Her "Witch Woods" is exactly what my taste craves so it was great to see her at eurovision. I love her.xlove

My personal opinion about the song aside (still hate it) this performance was just waaay too static. She looked like taped down on that strange platform, vocally this wasn´t great either and this "dancing dogs" in spacesuits in the background rather looked like cats if you ask me. I guess many viewers were just confused while watching this. xshrug

I'm sorry for EMMY, but yeah, let's be honest: this had no chances to qualify. I mean, "Witch woods" wasn't a masterpiece but still it is better than this song... and it didn't even reach Eurovision. I don't find anything wrong in her choice to try for Ireland, but maybe she should have tried with something else.

I hope Ireland learns from this NQ after last years success:

1. Don't import 'talent' from abroad, or at least someone that has slight Irish roots. I say 'talent' bc Laika Party as a song is a piece of cr**, especially compared to Witch Woods which was my fave back then.
2. DITCH THE LATE LATE SHOW AS A NATIONAL FINAL, FOR GOD'S SAKE. Is it that costful to arrange a small NF????? Even Greece managed to do it, come on.

Mixed reactions on social media in Ireland. The usual posts about 'did Ireland proud' and blaming 'political voting', outweighed by posts criticising the staging and song.

I'm sorry but I'm so glad that this didn't qualify. Everything about this entry was wrong.. though the topic and the singer were the worst. It also bothered me that Emmy has no connection to Ireland. I hope Ireland will at least send an Irish participant next year.

The 'fly in' nature of the contestant bothered me too at the start, although I pretty much got over it. My main issue was with the song (didn't rate the melody) and the subject matter (hate the Laika tragedy and don't want to be reminded of it)

Yes, the subject matter was actually the worst thing for me. It's tasteless and shows a complete lack of empathy to sing about something like that. I wasn't surprised when I found out one of the songwriters is Russian though.. this really looks like a song that was written for Russia 15 years ago or something.

Honestly, some of the people I was watching the semi with said that they liked the music, but weren't keen on the lyrics (the vocals were hit or miss for them). And I have to agree, had the subject matter been different they probably could have done something different with the staging. It still probably could have been space-themed! As twee as it would have been having a few people dressed as spacemen doing some breakdancing would have at least spiced it up.

It'll be interesting to see what happens next as I believe Michael Kealy may be stepping down this year.

It'll be interesting because pretty much since the dawn of modern Eurovision Ireland have only had older HoD who didn't really get the contest, Michael to be fair to him has tried to get it and the standard of our NF's has improved every year but the simple fact that he still think there LLS is a viable option shows me that we need a new HoD, but it is believed that if Michael is stepping down that Clare Hughes is taking his place. Unlike her predecessors Clare is much younger and might have a more open minded approach for Ireland's selection going forward.

Tbh as long as we can the LLS next year I would be relatively optimistic.

I think that her voice would have suited perfectly to a folk song.
Decent song but didn't suit her voice at all. 6 points

It was "too sweet" in general. Not bad but not good enough either. Expected outcome.

Keeping my figers crossed that, next year, :ie: will serve something (at least) as amazing as last year's entry.

I think Laika Party can compete as one of the worst songs of Eurovision ever. There's not much to save about it and especially that very static tacky performance.
Nothing really moves, Emmy is stuck on her platform. That was really awful.

Honestly, I think this was kind of poorly performed. Singer wasn't amazing and more stuff could have happened on stage, but I think the song itself is kind of fun! ...but also bad at the same time lol

I think it could have qualified with a better staging and performance. There was an opportunity here.

A real missed opportunity. I have heard versions that are sped-up or in other ways edited to sound "more 90s". This current version sounds like it wants to go for a 90s throwback, but stops halfway there. The result is uncommited and bland.
