An amazing lyric vid, really touched my soul! F**king awesome, this song just gets better and better for me...Such an well made pop song with such a strong message. I am sorry for everyone liking other songs, but for me, it is no doubt that if the performance work next weekend, that Bilal should be going to Tel Aviv and maybe hopefully get the crown there. ;)

Its early to tell and if he wins, :fr: should awaiting the results of others strong countries like :se:, , :it:, :au: and selections of :ru:, :ua: to realize their chances..

I still can't get over the fact that Bilal will win because of his huge fanbase and not of his song. To be honest, if someone else did enter with such an entry, I do wonder whether this'd have been as praised as Bilal's.

Well I said it depends a lot on the performance, if it doesn't work then it won't have a chance (I've learned my lesson after Madame Monsieur last year). And as you say, there are a lot of NFs left, that is why I wrote "Maybe hopefully", to show that it is a long bit left.

And John1 I have never heard of Bilal before this ESC-season, but I am very intrigued of him as a person and I think he sings the song with such passion, from his own experience. I often like artists that has that little extra, that can bring a song like "Roi" and give it an extra twist. I mean, "Toy" would never win Eurovision without Netta, "Amar Pelos Dois" would be just old-fashioned without Salvador Sobral and "Euphoria" would probably been a stupid latin song (rumours say) without Loreen. It is the mixture of song and artist that puts it together. I am not certain it will win, it is a strong NF, but I wouldn't mind it judging the songs solely.

To me the song is okay-ish, but nothing more. But in the past years I have learned that a live performance can upgrade a song that I found not so overwhelming at first (and vice versa), so I'll wait and hope ...

Avoid Bilal gimmick youtube star at all costs.

In other news, when will we get the best song of the selection "Por aqui" in full?

Remember what happened with Lisandro Cuxi last year? We all thought he'd walk the televote due to his fanbase, but he only managed third

Thankfully to be honest. Mercy was far ahead of his song in terms of song quality.

I listened to the full version of Gabriella's song, I actually like it! I get sort of a No Doubt vibe in the chorus (they were one of my favorite bands in high school/university), so I have to say it's my favorite of the up-tempo songs while Florina remains my favorite of the mid-tempo ones and Seemone the slower ones

Eurovision Destination 2019 is the best national selection I have ever listened to.

I just hope Bilal loses at the end. I don't want to waste this NF for having Roi at ESC. I'd be OK if this song had won in Malta for example, or Belarus, but not in France.

Just dropping in to say how much i love hearing songs in the french language, Bilal's song is great but it kinda losses steam in the parts where the english lyrics are introduced.

I'm guessing it was an attempt for the universal appeal.

Actually, I think this mix of French and English is actually relevant as far as he's concerned, because I noticed he's used to randomly saying words and short sentences in English when he talks in his videos.

But I agree the song is anticlimactic, it doesn't seem to build all the way up.

At first, I was like "ok, not too bad!", but now I'm done with it. We really could send something less safe tbh.

Oh that's interesting, honestly this makes it a bit better in my head because it's authentic then.

Safe is the word i would use too. It's good safe but still not something i could see being the winner of the contest unless the live staging/performance surprises me (that is IF he is actually the one selected)

Re: FRANCE 2019

Just saw Bilal's rehearsal being uploaded on Instagram, and I've got to say that I'm utterly disappointed. Is he truly going to win the whole thing solely because of his fanbase? Can't believe this, people are so deluded omg.

Even Silvan is a million miles ahead of him. xslap:confused:

Why ? His vocals are just perfect. The staging isn't the same than the one that will be shown on satudrady night, he said it on twitter.
