Nations or members in cyan have entered NSC at least once before.

Waiting list (WL) rules:

  • Voting in each final of NSC as part of the waiting list jury is compulsory.
  • Any waiting list nations who fail to vote will be moved 2 places down on the list.
  • Nations who fail to vote 2 finals in a row will be removed from the list.
  • Under certain circumstances waiting list nations can take a break from voting in the finals if a solid reason is given. During that period of time the position of the nation on the waiting list remains frozen and it can move neither up nor down.
  • Nations with 'NSC XXX' beside them will debut/return in the next contest.
  • Nations with 'NSC XXX?' beside them can send a reserve entry to the next contest.

First of all, welcome to NSC! If you have any questions regarding the contest, feel free to post them in this thread or ask one of the mods: @Stargazer, @berlyda or @Veronika.

In order to get familiar with the contest, please take a look at the RULES!

If you want to apply for a place in NSC (or if you want to return), simply send a PM to Stargazer - you'll be added to the waiting list (see above).

Please note that you are probably going to be waiting for a long time as there is a strong demand for spots on the roster. In the meantime, you may enter the Waiting List contest, vote in the semi-finals of NSC and take part in the various spin-off contests if you wish to. Don't forget that voting in the finals is compulsory.

And most importantly: Have fun!

::tan is also taking a break for next edition, and I would love to say it's because of ESC but it's mainly because of academic affairs (aka I'm late with my dissertation 🤡 and I need extra time to catch up before ESC)

See you in 229 and see some of you at Malmö hopefully xcheer

@Stargazer Moisantia withdraws from NSC with immediate effect. Just so you can incorporate this in your next roster update xup
Aw Gary, you were one of my strongest allies in NSC when I joined the roster - you encouraged me to never give up hope and that's just what I'll continue to do. Sakuralia's first victory when that happens will be dedicated in Moisantia's honor

Thank you as always for being such a dear friend xrunhug ::sak::moi

::bal is taking a break. Not because of ESC, because I have never been so little enthusiastic about ESC as I am this year, because of a certain country, but because I've started to question whether this is a contest I want to be part of anymore. Never thought I'd say that, but here we are. The "sclan" is tearing it apart. For now it's just for NSC 228, but it could be permanent. I'll let you know before the start of 229.

Thanks Steph, keep that hope burning bright always. It's the one thing that we all need to be sure that any challenges that come our way can be kicked into touch! xup

I have indeed not been aware about the difference between CET and CEST myself until the last edition.

But since I (almost always) make sure to vote well before the deadline and I am not strictly enforcing deadlines as host myself my not knowing of that fact has never had negative impact on NSC.

Not quite sure if I want my Skype name exposed here tbh.

So if you're back-pedalling on the statements you made on the forum regarding timezones and voting late, then I suppose we should just assume that your threat to leave the contest holds merit either, yes?

I have removed the Skype screenshot since it contains users' personal information, which is not okay to leak on a public forum.

It's me or the clan, and they obviously won't leave on their own. I've had enough of the drama from some members of this contest, and it has sucked the enjoyment of NSC out of me. And it feels horrible, NSC has been a very important part of my life for the last 15 years. I've had a "last entry ever" in my mind pretty much since I joined, but didn't think I'd ever send it, as I assumed my departure from NSC would be because of my death in a very distant future, but that could now be my 229 entry. We'll see. I'll probably stay in WLSC tho. :)

Removal of Yeto from the roster

We have come to the decision to permanently remove Yeto from the roster.

This decision was not made lightly. It is based on a years-long record of bullying and antagonisation of other members, which has resulted in many reports and many users quitting the contest. We have received an especially high number of reports from users in the past week voicing their concerns about the future integrity of the contest.

The decision is also based on irresponsible behaviour while undertaking hosting duties, including threatening to reject votes based on personal grievances and purposefully leaving members in the dark regarding their voting status for the hosts' own entertainment.

This is coupled with a failure to admit wrongdoing, apologise, or alter behavioural patterns, despite having many chances to do so.

This decision is final.

A warning has also been issued to Xhuxhmaxhuxh regarding the irresponsible handling of hosting duties.

Exclusion without hearing other side's defense and counterpoints is never an answer. All this mood about someone so dear to me personally and lead-up to it with nasty accusations, lashings and whatnot gives me witch-hunt vibes but somehow I'm not surprised. Hope y'all who support this (of course mad props to humane minority - if any at all) have your hearts filled up with content now that you banished someone who made so many contributions which will ALWAYS outnumber the minuses which we can't go without as human beings guided by heart over head at times. Mind. Numbing.
