Are there too many qualifiers?

Did anyone else find it kind of silly to have a semi with 15 contestants, and 10 make it to the final? That's only 5 entries that didn't make it.... it just seems kind of silly to me. The amount of qualifiers should be about half of the contestants, not much more.

Maybe having fewer qualifiers would motivate countries to work even harder, and make it easier for the audience to really listen to each and every entry in the final instead forgetting the "early" ones, as many on here seem to think they do...... what do you think?

Yes, 9 from each semi would have been better. 26 in the final was also a little too much.

Well i have also thought about it,
but someone told me something correct.
More countries in the Final, more happy broadcasters.

It should stay as it is now, the only thing that should change is that more countries should participate. ;)

It's fine as it is... at least small countries like San Marino managed to get through!

It's just fine. If we should have less qualifiers, than we would need more prequalifiers. Who else should be prequalified? The Top 5 or Top 10 from last year?

Please no, because two semifinals are very beneficial for the quality of songs. More prequalifiers = less quality.

This year, there were a lot of qualifiers because a lot of countries didn't take part as well. The Balkans are all yellow on the map !

Well if Big 5 would also be in the semis, than problably it would be 12 qualifier instead of ten. But since they are Big 5, I think this system is pretty much perfect! :)

Sometimes I feel like there are too many songs in the final: once i get near the last ones I feel like it's too much. Maybe we should have 3 semifinals and 15 finalists.

There should be:
9 qualifiers from each semifinal.
+Big 5
+host
+guest country from rest of the world
=
25 countries.
This is the best solution in my opinion.

but then one of the countries Top 10 will surely not qualify, so the points system 1-12 doesn't make much sense anymore too.
I think it's fine as it is. But maybe they should start thinking about putting Germany, Italy etc. into the semis too...
