It’s officially the penultimate weekend of Eurovision selection shows – four shows are set to take place, and two will select their winners tonight: Serbia and Iceland. The winner of Pesma za Evroviziju will automatically be going to Eurovision, with the winner of Söngvakeppnin potentially going after a conversation with the broadcaster.

Meanwhile, final eliminations will occur in Sweden during the last heat of Melodifestivalen, and later in Portugal during Festival da Canção – setting both up to select their winners and Eurovision acts next weekend.

Mark your calendars and prepare your browser tabs, because you don’t want to miss a single moment of the fun!

🇸🇪 Sweden – Melodifestivalen Heat Five (20:00 CET)

Tonight is the final heat of Melodifestivalen, live from Karlstad.  Tonight’s songs and performers will be:

  1. Marcus & Martinus – “Unforgettable
  2. Chelsea Muco – “Controlla
  3. Jay Smith – “Back To My Roots
  4. Elecktra – “Banne maj
  5. Annika Wickihalder – “Light 
  6. Medina – “Que Sera”

The last two direct to final spots are now up for grabs, with the first finalist being decided by the first round of televoting, and the second being decided by a second short televoting window.

All songs that placed 2nd and 3rd in their heats will also enter a special round of voting at the end of the show to give two more songs a second chance at the final. These two songs will also be determined through a televote process.

The show will begin at 20:00 CET and can be watched on SVT Play.

🇮🇸 Iceland – Söngvakeppnin Final (20:45 CET)

Tonight RÚV will complete their annual song competition Söngvakeppnin, where the winner could earn the right to compete in Eurovision 2024 in Malmo.

Tonight’s final will feature only five songs, four that were chosen to advance directly out of their semi-finals by the Icelandic public. Sigga Ózk, however, was given the wildcard from the broadcaster to advance through to the final. 

The artists had the option to compete with either the Icelandic or English versions of their songs, with Væb being the only artists to keep their song in Icelandic. The running order for tonight’s final is:

  1. Væb – “Bíómynd 
  2. Hera Björk – “Scared of Heights
  3. Anita – “Downfall
  4. Bashar Murad – “Wild West
  5. Sigga Ózk – “Into the Atmosphere

Tonight’s winner will be decided by two rounds of voting, the first will select two songs to advance to the superfinal through a 50/50 combination of jury and public televoting. Then in the superfinal the Icelandic public will have 100% say in selecting the winner. RÚV will then discuss with the winner about the country’s participation in Eurovision.

The show begins at 20:45 in Reykjavík and can be viewed on RÚV.

🇷🇸 Serbia – Pezma za Evroviziju 2024 (21:00 CET)

After two semi-finals earlier this week, Serbia will conclude it’s search for the next Serbian Eurovision star. A total of sixteen artists qualified from the final out of their semi-final, gaining the favor of both the juries and public. Now they go head to head once more in RTS Studio 8 located in Belgrade.

The running order for the show was selected at the end of both semi-finals, with the artists drawing slots from a bowl similar to how the Eurovision artists draw their halves for the final at the press conferences. The running order will be:

  1. Iva Lorens – “Dom
  2. Džordži – “Luna park
  3. Breskvica – “Gnezdo orlovo
  4. Teya Dora – “Ramonda
  5. Hristina – “Bedem
  6. Marko Mandić – “Dno
  7. M.Ira – “Percepcija
  8. Nemanja Radošević – “Jutra bez tebe
  9. Milan Bujaković – “Moje tvoje
  10. Keni nije mrtav – “Dijamanti
  11. Zorja – “Lik u ogledalu
  12. Zejna – “Najbolja
  13. Konstrakta – “Novo, bolje
  14. Bojana & David – “No No No
  15. Lena Kovačević – “Zovi me Lena”
  16. Dušan Kurtić – “Zbog tebe živim

The winner will once again be selected by a 50/50 mixed voting process that gives equal say to the Serbian public and an expert panel of jury members. The show will begin at 21:00 CET and can be viewed on the main Eurovision Channel YouTube account.

🇵🇹 Portugal – Festival da Canção Semi-Final Two (22:00 CET)

The highly celebrated song festival in Portugal Festival da Canção will continue today, with the second ten contestants vying for their place in the final on March 9th. The will join the six lucky artists who were selected in last weekend’s semi-final and compete for the chance to go to Eurovision 2024 in Malmo, Sweden.

The competing artists and running order were decided prior to the show:

  1. Buba Espinho – “O Farol
  2. Cristina Clara – “Primavera
  3. Leo Middea – “Doce Mistério
  4. Filipa – “You Can’t Hide
  5. João Couto – “Quarto para Um”
  6. Huca – “Pé de Choro
  7. No Maka feat. Ana Maria – “Aceitar
  8. Maria João – “Dia
  9. Rita Onofre – “Criatura
  10. Silk Nobre – “Change

Six qualifiers will be selected during tonight’s show, the first five being selected by a mix method of televoting and jury votes where each make up 50% of the result. Then the televoting lines will reopen, and only the public will decide which song earns the last qualifying spot and lock in the line-up for next weekend’s final.

The show is set to kick off at 22:00 CET and can be viewed on RTP1 or RTP Internacional.
