AVROTROS have confirmed in a statement that Joost Klein will not perform in tonight’s jury final while an investigation into an “incident” is ongoing. Instead, his performance from Semi Final 2 will be used.

Details regarding the situation

On the 10th of May 2024, the first dress rehearsal for the final was supposed to take place, early afternoon and everything went according to plan, leading up to the flag parade, which Joost Klein featured in. However, by the time the rehearsal had reached song number 5, no Joost could be seen on the stage, and instead was entirely skipped.

The Dutch performer didn’t appear at any later point in the dress rehearsal, leaving the press wondering about the situation.

After the dress rehearsal had fully concluded, no announcement had yet been made about what was the cause for the missing Dutch singer. Rumors were spreading far and wild across online platforms as well inside the Eurovision-bubble.

Eventually, shortly before the second dress rehearsal, a press alert was shared that confirmed that Joost Klein would not perform once again, and now, a pending solution to what may have happened earlier on the day, is being solved by the EBU.
