Today TVM revealed the 36 semi-finalists that have been chosen to compete in the Maltese Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) for 2024.

The slate of semi-finalists are:

Starting from 27 October, nine songs will be premiered each week during TVM’s show “XOW”. The jury and public will decide on 12 qualifiers for the Grand Final, which will be revealed during the fifth show on 24 November.

  12. Haley Azzopardi – Tell Me That It’s Over
  13. Janvil – Man
  14. Jessica Micallef – Tagħna Tnejn
  15. Karin Duff – Breaking Bad
  16. Kurt Calleja – Misunderstood
  17. Kyle George – Arrows
  18. Lisa Gauci – Breathe
  19. Lyndsay Pace – Fire Proof
  20. Maria Christina – Moving On
  21. Marie Claire – Fading
  22. Mark Anthony Bartolo – Condition or Friction
  23. Mark Portelli – Just Be
  24. Martina Cutajar – Miles Away

The list sees a number of returning entrants like 2023 runner up Ryan Hili, Matt Blxck, JESC 2019 artist Eliana Gomez Blanco, and more.

The semi-finalists were selected by a selection jury, and will be revealed in sets of 9over the next few weeks starting on October 27th.

The songs will be released on the XOW television program and will be live studio performances of the entry – and each week a selected jury and the public will vote on the 9 songs.

The 12 songs with the highest awarded point totals will be announced in a 5th special show, and will qualify for the MESC final set for 2024.

Malta failed to qualify for the Eurovision final in both 2022 and 2023, with their last entrant The Busker coming last in the first semi-final.
