Armenia is giving the Eurovision-fans some great suspense in who they have selected for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm next spring. In the trailer for the announcement, that is to be made the 13th of October, a woman is approaching in the darkness and looks like the one to save Armenia’s honor in May. But who is this mysterious woman? It seems to be four names that is mostly flourish at the moment.
The 27 year-old Lilit Hovhannisyan wanted first to be a designer, but later on decided on a music carrier, and is today one of Armenias most popular singers after competing in the Armenian contest Hay Superstar, where she ended in 4th place in 2006. Lilit was the one that was chosen in ESCUniteds Dream Team by the members of the forums this summer, so she is a big fan favorite, if she gets to be the one competing in Stockholm next year. The only question remains, if she is possibly “too big” for being interested in joining Eurovision?
Her single “Im Tiknikn Es”, together with young singer Nanul, release this spring:
Iveta Makukchyan was born in Yerevan in 1986 and is a Armenian-German model and singer. She participated in Hay Superstar in 2010 and came in 5th place and in 2012 she competed in german The Voice and got eliminated in the live shows. She has also been awarded as the sexiest woman in Armenia in 2012 by the magazine El Style. Question is though that if she is ready to help her native country to reach a high placement in May?
Her single “Ari Yar”, made with Serjo, released in March 2015.
Athena Manoukian is no complete Eurovision stranger, since she competed in the greek national final for Junior Eurovision in 2008, which she ended in 7th place. She has had a few hits in Greece with her latest “XO” from 2014. Last week she was actually visiting Armenia for the first time where she in interviews where she said that she wanted to talk to her manager to have more concerts in Armenia and also that it would be an honor to compete for Armenia in Eurovision Song Contest. Here the question isn’t if Athena is ready, it should be more pointed into if AMPTV is looking into selecting her or not?
Her single from 2014, “XO”.
Or could it be so that it is a comeback on the cards? Sirusho, born as Siranush Harytyunyan, competed for Armenia in Belgrade 2008 which she reached 4th place. After her Eurovision-experience she has a great carrier and released several singles and albums. Is it so that she has a hunger for doing a 2nd try and maybe go all the way to the win?
Her Eurovision-performance in 2008:
The 13th of October we will know. Who is this dark lady of Armenia? Could it be one of these four singers…or could it be someone else?
