This morning, RTL started at 7:10 am to announce the finalists of the Luxembourg Song Contest on their radios and social networks, revealing one finalist per hour.
And here they are, the 8 contestants who will perform at the national final to be televised by RTL in January to find out who will get the chance to represent Luxembourg at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö, Sweden.
- Joel Marques is the first artist to be announced, he is a 26 year old singer from Differdange. He participated this year in “The Voice of Germany” and made it all the way to the semi-finals (battles).
- Naomi Ayé is a 15 year old singer, composer and pianist, she is the youngest finalist of the Luxembourg Song Contest. In 2020 she reached the final of “The Voice Kids” in France.
- EDSUN is a 33 year old singer, he’s an experienced artist and well established in the Luxembourgish music scene. He won multiple awards such as “Artist of the Year” at the 2018 Luxembourg Music Awards.
- Krick is a 26 year old nurse, she founded a cover band in 2014 and participated in “The Voice of Germany” in 2018. In 2019, she released her first single called “Face Cake”.
- One Last Time is a pop-rock band composed of 5 members, they are the only band making it to the final. In 2022 they released their first EP called “Second Wind”.
- TALI is a 23 years old singer, performer and vocal coach who wrote her first single when she was 16. She is also part of a band currently on tour in New York.
- Angy & Rafa Ela are the only duo making it to the final, Angy Sciacqua and Rafaela Teixeira Fernandes have had experience in singing contests. Angy participated in “The Voice Belgium” in 2013 and Rafaela won in 2018 “Top Voice Luxembourg”
- CHAiLD is the last artist to be revealed, he is a 25 year old electro-pop singer and songwriter. He is currently living in Brussels and is a known name of the Luxembourgish music scene.
This concludes the selection process for the final of the Luxembourg Song Contest, the next step is the televised show where Luxembourg will select their entry for Eurovision 2024.
The live show will take place on the evening of January 27th at the Rockhal in Belval, Esch-sur-Alzette. It will unveil the first Luxembourgish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest after an absence of more than 30 years.
