Tone Sekelius will open the show this year with 2012 Eurovision winner Loreen closing the final heat.

This year marks the return of the tour of Sweden after the Covid Pandemic, and the shows are presented by last year’s green room host Farah Abadi and comedian Jesper Ronndahl. Melodifestivalen 2023 is split into 4 heats of 7 acts.

4 acts from each heat will qualify, 2 going direct to the final and 2 to the semi-final. The semi-final has changed this year and will see all 8 acts compete against each other, instead of the old dual system.

The contest starts on the 4th of February in the Scandinavium in Gothenburg.
