eurovision 2023 liverpool

The Government of the United Kingdom has now opened the applications for the ballot of tickets for displaced people from Ukraine for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Here’s how to apply.

These subsidized tickets are meant “to ensure that people displaced by the war in Ukraine are able to attend the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool”, as the official Eurovision website points out.

Last month, the UK Government promised to provide 3,000 tickets to the people from Ukraine who are based in the United Kingdom via the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, the Ukraine Family Scheme or the Ukraine Extension Scheme. And the applications are now open until 16:00 (UK time, 17:00 CEST) on Thursday April 6 2023.

How to apply if you’re eligible?

These 3,000 tickets are available for all nine Eurovision 2023 shows, including the three live shows on May 9, May 11 and May 13. Each subsidized ticket will be sold £20, but each applicant needs to make sure they can arrange their own travel and accommodation as the neither the Government nor the Eurovision organizers will cover these costs.

If you’re eligible, you need to complete this form to apply, provide your name, email address, and select which show or shows you want to enter the ballot for. You’ll also need to upload a photo or scan of your biometric residence permit. The Government points out that only the person applying for the tickets needs to hold a biometric residence permit.

Starting April 17, the successful applicants will receive an email information from Ticketmaster, Eurovision 2023 ticket sales partner, and will then be able to purchase up to two tickets. To be able to buy tickets, you need to have a Ticketmaster account, which can be set up ahead of purchase.

The ticket(s) then have to be collected in person on the day from the box office in Liverpool. You’ll need to show your biometric residence permit to get your ticket(s).

For more information and full guidance, you can visit the Government of the United Kingdom website, gov.uk.
