Every year our “Expert” Panel comes together to judge all entries for the Eurovision Song Contest and they’re back to take apart the 2013 entries and rank them accordingly. While their characters and comments may be wacky, the scores are dead serious. All 13 panelists will comment on the song and rank them accordingly giving it points using a scale from five to zero. At the end you’ll also get to cast your vote in the poll. If you would learn more about the panelists and to discuss the show, join us on our Forum HERE

Let’s have a look at the current scoreboard:

FYR Macedonia is next and after changing their song (almost) last minute the duo Esma & Lozano will perform “Pred Da Se Razdeni” in Malmo. Let’s find out if the panel is approving of the song.

What has happened to this entry? The song I was sent earlier for review was spectacular. This one here not so much. Does Macedonia think they are Belarus? Anyway the main attraction is still here and thats Esma. I ere she is the queen of gypsy music. What a treat her voice is to listen to. Lozano is enjoyable as well. The song is nowhere near the quality of “Imperija” yet still this shines in comparison to a lot of the other songs on offer. I am grateful of Macedonia for introducent me to Esma Redzepova. I now big fan and own her cassette tape “Gypsy Carpet”.

Scotty Too HottyWho put these two together? Is it a mother and son combo? Joking aside, their vocals are pretty good especially Vlatko which brings a softer side to the song. Tell me she’s won an award for her warbling?  Waking up next to her on a Sunday morning would be a challenge! I think it’s a reasonably good song but I can’t see it having much impact on stage. Can you imagine 4 hunky dancers carrying her on buckling under the pressure? A good attempt overall.

MorenikLozano, you sing a nice song! Esma, you do a lovely lilting thing in the background! But you two are like chalk and cheese, you clearly don’t go together! On that note, by the way, chalk and cheese soup will only result in temporary blindness, so don’t try it.

Why did they change the masterpiece which was Imperija I will never understand that; at least if the final song it was better, but it’s not. Very bad move…

Dark MasterHogwarts Empire is not content with the decision to revoke the previous greatness called “Imperija”. Neither am I. “Imperija” is like a resurrection stone, waiting to be found and used for Eurovision. The new song is quite average and does not blend well. However, they are both good vocalists and Esma has quite a charm. Given that she is the queen of the gypsies and her unique apparel, she could grab some televotes, despite the song.

RobertNot bad song from Macedonia this year. I love Vlatko’s voice and style of singing. I just can’t realize what is the necessity to involve Esma Redzepova to this entry. They are looking ridiculous on the stage – a handsome pop-styled young guy and old chalga singer. In common I don’t think the song will be very successful. It would be good to see Vlatko solo on the stage, but the entry is chosen and nothing to do with

Eau: Ooh, this starts in such a nice way. The singer has a beautiful voice, my lord! And I love the melody. Hmm, beautiful….this is some of the best that the Balkan has to offer.
Liz: But oh, what is happening now? What is this?
Eau: Who is she? What’s she doing on the stage? Oh, dear heaven. A car accident is happening. A terrible, terrible car accident is happening right before our eyes Liz. It’s like a huge autobus has just crashed into a… (to be continued)

Grandpa WatermanMacedonia, What are you doing?

Emma MagnusonThis dude starts singing a quite nice ballad, but then a lady dressed so weirdly enters the room and starts screaming over some random dubstep sounds. Well, maybe she just wanted to troll the guy because it’s her ex-son-in-law and he left her daughter with two children to go with another woman, so good thing she did to him. And she successfully destroyed the song of the guy. Poor guy, he’s got a great voice, but he should’ve known better.

Petronella PoetryI like the guy. But this song isn’t something I would buy. Mainly cause the womans part is completly random. I can’t even see this song getting any fandom. Bad choice. Time to find something else to rejoice.

Alex ChandhokA giant train wreck. “Imperija” was solid, this is generic dance-ballad nonsense. The singing is solid and Esma in particular is enchanting, but the song never even threatens to go to a new level. Honestly, there is very little to say about this. It is so generic and indistinct. Macedonia need to work hard every year to qualify, and I can’t see them coming close in 2013. This is a failure, and despite best attempts this song belongs on the Eurovision scrapheap.

Barb E DahlWhy did they record two completely different songs on top of each other? A boring lullaby by a young guy and a whale mating audio clip, at least I’m pretty sure that’s what it is. Is this considered good over there? I’m confused.

Britni SpirsovicOH GOD. WHAT HAVE I LISTENED TO. Nothing makes sense together in this song. It sounds like a car crash of musical proportions. You have Vlatko who’s singing ballad and you have Esma who randomly starts her folk stylings. Things clash with each other, nothing goes well with each other. It’s as if they made two songs and played it simultaneously. Le le le le le le le, I’m done.

CURRENT SCORE: 20
