Saara Aalto who ended 2nd in the Finnish final for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, as I am sure you know, is participating in the UK’s X Factor… So how has week 2 been for Saara?
Saara took to the stage last night singing “River Deep, Mountain High” in this week’s Motown week. Getting positive comments from the judges, it all looked good for Saara… Until tonight… Saara was once again in the bottom 3 and after the ‘lifeline’ vote (which allows fans to save one of the bottom 3) the public chose to save Ryan, meaning Saara and Freddy were in the sing-off.
Saara’s mentor, Sharon Osborne, was introducing Saara for her sing-off performance, although she forgot her name and had to ask fellow judge, Louis Walsh, what her own acts name was. Shortly followed by Saara performing Leona Lewis’ “Run”.
The judges were asked which act they wanted to save:
Nicole saved Freddy
Sharon saved Saara
Louis saved Saara
Simon saved Freddy
meaning that there was a tie and therefore the public vote would be used to decide the act who would be eliminated. The public vote had Saara ahead of Freddy and therefore Freddy was eliminated. So Saara Aalto (just about) survives another week.
