Earlier this week, Noa Kirel unveiled some key details about the preparations for her 2023 Eurovision bow.

Speaking with Israeli publication Mako, the 21-year-old chart topper said that KAN, the broadcaster responsible for the country’s participation at Eurovision, has given her and her team complete creative freedom over the songwriting and staging design. She also revealed that KAN has committed to a budget of $900,000 for the endeavor. (Noa‘s agent, Roberto Ben Shoshan, claims in the article that he will contribute additional funds should Noa and her team need them.) As far as Noa is concerned, however, the financial component of competing at Eurovision is not among her biggest concerns.

“When it comes to Eurovision, I’m coming to give my million percent, and if it means losing money and [contributing my own money], I will do it,” she said. “I will do what is best for my country and for me.”

The Israeli superstar discussed her vision for the song that she will be competing with in The UK next year. The entry will be composed at a songwriting camp organized by her management team, and with the support of her label, Atlantic Records, Noa is determined that the song will be culturally Israeli through and through.

“In order to represent Israel, we need to bring an Israeli team, Israeli writers, Israeli composers,” she said.

Lastly, Noa  revealed that one of her first calls after receiving the offer to represent Israel was to 2018 Eurovision victor Netta Barzilai.

“It was really important for me to talk to someone who has been through this experience and knows what it is,” she said.

With Netta‘s encouragement, Noa embraced the challenge and is excited to see how participating in an international music competition could boost her career to the next level.

“The more successful you are, the more you have to lose,” she said. “[But] this is a really crazy platform to promote myself. I should take this risk and gain an audience that doesn’t know me yet.”

As an up-and-coming pop star, Noa has her hands full with more than just Eurovision preparations. She is busy promoting her newest single, “Panther”, and recently launched a make up brand called SHOWTIME.
