On press conference in Ljubljana, the 10 names that will participate at upcoming Slovenian national final were just revealed.
As it was announced last year, there will be a new festival like event, that will spread through February and among the events, EMA will be held. So on the 13th it will be Pop-Rock night, on the 20th Slovenian folk music night and to top it all out, on the 27th EMA will be held and the next Slovenian representative will be chosen, just like last time. Three member jury will select two songs and out of them the televoting will decide the winner.
The contestants are:
Anja Baš – She came to the music scene in 2003. Anja was part of a girl band Angee till 2009. She already has some EMA experience as she was a backing vocalist to Nuša Derenda in 2005. Her first solo album came out last year.
Anja Kotar – Anja is just 18 and she writes her own songs. Anja directed her own musical Godspell and performed it in California Theatre, Neil Simon Theatre in New York among many other places. Her first album was released by Universal Los Angeles.
D Base – Three boys are in this band. Benjamin, Nejc and David are all experienced. Benjamin met with music in elementary school. He rose his fame in the first season of Slovenia Got Talent show. Nejc’s and David’s style is rap. Nejc first album came out in 2011 and David’s a year earlier. They both collaborated with some local and regional rappers.
ManuElla – She plays three insturments – accordian, piano and bass guitar. In 2010 ManuElla participated in German Das SuperTalent and two years later she was part of Slovenian preselection Mission Eurovision. She’s preparing her first album in English.
Nuša Derenda – You must remember her from 2001, when she represented Slovenia with the song Energy. Then she finished 7th and it is Slovenia’s best result since. Nuša also participated in EMA in 2003, 2005 and 2010. Her album from 2008, Prestige, was produced by Raay.
Raiven – Her real name is Sara Briški Cirman and she is a profesional harpist. She has participated in many competitions in Slovenia and elsewhere in Europe. So far she has published two songs.
SAN Di EGO – Group was formed in early 2013 and consists of four experienced musicians. Sergei Škofljanec (vocals, acoustic guitar, piano), Matic Ajdič (guitar, vocals), Jure Doles (drums) and Martin Rozman (bass guitar, backing vocals). The band got public’s attention covering Bee Gees Stayin Alive. They have eight singles and six videos and thier album should be published till end of the year.
Sebastijan Lukovnjak – He was a member of few bands, but now acts solo. Sebastijan is multitalented as he sings, plays couple of instruments and also acts in puppet theater. He’s performing in Slovenia as well abroad.
Žan Seričić – Žan is a singer, author and guitar teacher. He also became popular participating in Slovenia Got Talent in 2011. His first song was published in 2012 and the same year he and Eva Boto had a Xmas duet song. He also did many covers.
Regina – She represented Slovenia in 1996 with Dan najlepših sanj, but she ended up 21st out of 23. Regina has tried to represent Slovenia on six more occasions. Her last album came out in 2012. Regina is very well experienced. Also one of her videos premiered on MTV Adria.
