Swedish magazine Aftonbladet will not slow down this week, now revealing the return of a Melfest and Eurovision champion. Yes, Loreen is set to return to Melfest according to several Aftonbladet sources.

The 2012 winner has competed in Melfest three times already and Aftonbladet sources reveal she is set to return for a fourth time. She last competed in 2017, failing to pass the Andra Chansen with her song “Statements”.

The singer is rumoured to be returning to Melodifestivalen with the same writers of the winning song “Euphoria”. The songwriters include Peter Boströ and Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt.

But it is key to point out, Aftonbladet’s source admits that Loreen herself may not make up her mind until a few days before the announcement of artists. It seems to have taken some persuasion with the song to get Loreen on board. So it is always possible that Loreen may change her mind before the end of the month.

This revelation takes the number of rumoured artists for Melodifestivalen 2023 to 16. Only 12 more spaces remain in Aftonbladet’s predictions. Loreen joins names such as Victor Crone, Wiktoria, Loulou LaMotte and Paul Rey who have all participated before.
