We’re so happy that we can report and talk with so many acts this year, that we just could die… a bit brutal, so let’s stay alive for now. Lord of the Lost, the band that are representing Germany in 2023, took their time to have a chat with us, while we were at the press center, so let’s have some fun with them.

They might look a bit scary and violent maybe, but we promise, these guys are just pure angels walking among us, spreading some cheer among themselves and others. In fact, they get to share some quite wise words with us in our interview, for example how they see the contest and how it “potentially” works out. Is it just pure luck, or is there more to it?

Of course, we’d also like to hear about their more fun views of things, so we give them a few questions where they can answer a bit about each other and share how they view in other, when it comes to what other genre’s they might be into, who’s mostly into karaoke or even who’s the clumsy one on stage?

We also hear a bit about some potential Eurovision collaboration, the band released a cover version of “Cha Cha Cha” by Käärijä last week, which you can give a listen to below, but we also get to hear that they’ve been in talks with an artist already!

Germany is one of the founding countries of the contest, who took part in the contest back in 1956 and has participated every single year since… depending on how you look into it, but technically speaking, they did only miss one contest, which was the 1996 edition. In recent years, since 2015 to be exact, Germany has only finished in bottom two, with the exception of 2018. Can Lord of the Lost change that this year?

About Lord of the Lost

They are an experienced band by now, who made their debut all the way back in 2007, with origins from Hamburg. The original name of the project was “Lord“, but it became Lord of the Lost, to avoid name disputes with bands like Lordi and The Lords.

Since 2007, the band has been through a lot of changes and achieved a lot of success as well, currently the band consists of Pi, Niklas, Class, Gared and of course lead singer and band founder Chris. Since then, the band has released multiple albums, recorded multiple music videos, released multiple singles, featured and collaborated with multiple artists, and done pretty much all your heart can desire when it comes to music.

Despite the great success, the band still had to prove what they were made of, by taking part in the German national final. Would they get the public’s approval? Well… clearly they would, otherwise we wouldn’t be talking about them today! The band impressed the public of Germany, to secure their trip to Liverpool and soon they’ll get the chance to impress all of Europe.
