They promised us a shorter national final, and that is what we are exactly getting, but that doesn’t stop them from bringing in a lot of potential. LRT (National broadcaster of Lithuania) has earlier today revealed the 36 potential candidates to represent the country in Rotterdam.

Eurovizijos Atranka 2020

Back in September, it was announced that the show will be a lot shorter compared to previous years, with a total of 6 shows taking place. 3 heats, 2 semi-finals and the grand final.

Starting on the 11th of January, the show will then air each Saturday until the grand final, so far set to the 15th of February. LRT has in the past before, changed the date of the final due to some different reasons, but so far everything seems promising and the date should stand.

The 36 acts will then compete across the 3 heats, where half of the field will be cut down before the 2 semi-finals. This will leave us with 18 participants before the semi-finals, with 9 acts in each semi-final. A total of 4 songs will qualify from each semi-final to the final, where the winner will be crowned.

Here is the full list of the 36 participants in alphabetical order:

The qualifiers of each heat and semi-final, as well as the overall winner of the final, will all be decided by a mix a national jury and the televotes.

Jurij Veklenko represented Lithuania last year in Tel-Aviv with his song “Run With The Lions“. Unfortunately, he placed 11th in the second semi-final only 1 point short of qualification to the final, with a total of 93 points.

Who do #YOU look forward to see performing in Lithuania and do #YOU think this could be the decade that Lithuania finally pulls the victory? Let us know on our forum HERE or on our social media sites.
