This year the Latvian broadcaster decided to cut back on the Supernova format, removing the multi-week process for a live audition round and a live final. Tonight the nine hopefuls took to the stage in order to grab a spot in Rotterdam.
The acts competing were:
- Seleste – “Like Me”
- DRIKSNA – “Stay”
- Katrīna Bindere – “I Will Break Your Heart”
- Edgars Kreilis – “Tridymite”
- Katrīna Dimanta – “Heart Beats”
- Miks Dukurs – “I’m Falling for You”
- ANNA – “Polyester”
- BAd Habits – “Sail with You”
- Samanta Tīna – “Still Breathing”
Tonight’s final had a four member jury sitting in for feedback on each performance, which was comprised of Maarja Merivoo-Parro (Estonia), Gerūta Griniūtė (Lithuania), Petri Mannonen (Finland), and Artis Dvarionas (Latvia).
At the end of the night following a long amount of stalling and talking, results were announced from the voting sequence. In a landslide victory, Samanta Tīna won Supernova 2020 and will be going to Rotterdam! The full results from tonight’s show are listed below.

Latvia has not qualified for the grand final since 2016 when Justs represented Latvia with “Heartbeat”. LTV and the Latvian delegation will likely be putting their all into their 2020 entry, hoping to start off this new decade on a good foot.
