After a 5-year-long absence, Bulgaria is ready to spread love!

BNT, the Bulgarian national broadcaster responsible for the country’s participation in Junior Eurovision, announced today that talented youngsters Deni and Marti will be representing Bulgaria at the contest in December. Their song, ‘Glasut na Liubovta’ or ‘The Voice of Love’, will debut on morning show The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov this Saturday, November 13.

12-year-old Deni and 13-year-old Marti were introduced in a press conference this morning on broadcaster BNT 1. Both singers are students at the children’s vocal studio Sarandev and have been performing together for over four years. The pair have won several awards throughout their time as a duo, but attending Junior Eurovision has been a long term goal.

Members of the creative team are no strangers to Eurovision competition. Ligna Studios, the Bulgarian artist management agency that helped shepherd Victoria‘s ‘Growing Up is Getting Old’ to an 11th place finish in Rotterdam, is a collaborator on the country’s Junior Eurovision participation. And among the entry’s songwriters is vocal powerhouse Vasil, North Macedonia’s representative at Eurovision in May. He ultimately placed 15th in the first semi-final with ‘Here I Stand’, but he is still full of excitement to continue on in his journey with the contest. He announced the news this morning on Instagram.

This will Bulgaria’s 7th participation in Junior Eurovision since joining the contest in 2007. The country’s best result was a 2nd place finish in 2014, with KrisiaHasan & Ibrahim‘s ‘Planet of the Children’. Bulgaria last participated in 2016, coming 9th with Lidia Ganeva‘s ‘Magical Day’.
