It’s gonna be phenomenal! Noa Kirel’s Eurovision entry “Unicorn” has been released! It has received its world premiere during the Eilat Music Festival ahead of its premiere on the official Eurovision Youtube channel.

The Israeli broadcaster, KAN, has internally selected the 21-year-old award winning singer, actress, and television host Noa Kirel after the broadcaster decided not to hold a national final for the first time since 2012. She was also involved in choosing the song as it was reported that she commission three different teams to create three different songs where “Unicorn” came on the top. She composed the song alongside May Sfadia, Yinon Yahel, and Doron Medalie. Medalie is one of the composers behind Israel’s Eurovision 2018 winning entry “Toy” by Netta Barzilai.

“Unicorn” deals with female empowerment, which is timely due to it being International Women’s Day today. It includes some Hebrew lyrics though the entire song is in English.

Noa Kirel will perform for Israel in the 2nd half of the 1st semi-final on the 9th of May 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Michael Ben David represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy with the song “I.M.” He failed to qualify to the grand final from the 2nd semi-final.
