Iceland: 12 participants of Söngvakeppnin 2015 revealed by RÚV.

Tonight we’ve seen another 4 acts make it to the final of Icelandic national final Söngvakeppnin 2015. In the Semi-final 2 we heard 6 acts competing for a spot in the final :

1. Haukur Heiðar Hauksson “Milljón augnablik”
2. María Ólafsdóttir “Lítil skref”
3. SUNDAY “Fjaðrir”
4. Regína Ósk “Aldrei of seint”
5. Bjarni Lárus Hall “Brotið gler”
6. CADEM “Fyrir alla”

With the public voting (100% televote) and special jury the following 4 acts have made it to the grand final of Söngvakeppnin 2015 which will be held on Saturday 14th of February:

1 Haukur Heiðar Hauksson “Milljón augnablik” Wildcard
2 María Ólafsdóttir “Lítil skref”
3 Sunday “Fjaðrir”
6 Cadem “Fyrir alla”

The three acts have joined Semi 1 qualifiers, with Haukur Heiðar Hauksson being chosen by the special jury as the wildcard bringing the number to a total of 7 songs in the final. This concludes the Semi-final stage of the Söngvakeppnin 2015!

Iceland joined Eurovision Song Contest 1986 held in Bergen, Norway where Pálmi Gunnarsson finished 16th out of 20 entries with song Gleðibankinn. Their best placement to date is 2nd place achieved twice; first in 1999 with Selma and All Out of Luck and the second time ten years later in 2009 with Yohanna and her song Is It True? Next Saturday we will find out who will represent Iceland in Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna.
