UPDATE: It has now been confirmed that Hovig Demirjian will sing for Cyprus at next year’s Eurovision in Ukraine. The original article follows below.

The Cypriot broadcaster CyBC looks set to make their move for 2017 and become the first country to announce their act tomorrow, but in some media it seems we already might know the name!

Hovig Demirjian, who sang in the Cypriot national final on heir return in 2015, was a participant on the Greek version of The X Factor in 2009, alongside 2012’s Ivi Adamou. The Cypriot of Armenian heritage has sung in both English and Greek before.

In 2015, he participated in the Cypriot final with the ballad “Stone In A River” but eventually lost out to John Karagiannis.

You can check out his 2015 entry below;

What do you think? Will Hovig be a success for Cyprus?
