Bojana Stamenov will be the first Serb to sing in English at Eurovision.

You might want to sit down for this one – Serbia has confirmed that their entry will be performed in English for the first time ever.

Bojana Stamenov’s “Ceo svet je mov” will be translated to “Beauty Never Lies” by the time it is performed in the first semi-final in Vienna on May 19th.

This will be the first time Serbia has performed in English, either as an independent nation, as Serbia and Montenegro or as part of the former Yugoslavia. Serbia has consistently stuck to their native language and were one of the few countries to follow this path.

As a result, only five countries have never sung in a language other than their native; Portugal, Morocco, Malta and of course Ireland and the United Kingdom. Malta has sang in Maltese on three occasions and Ireland has sung in Irish once.
