As escunited.com announced earlier this week, Alison Ellul and Elton Zarb have made the final 16 in the Lithuanian National Selection.

Today we can announce that three more Maltese nationals are in the French National Final. No strangers to the Eurovision Song Contest, Gerard James Borg and his writing partner Philip Vella, who have written a number of the Maltese entries, most recently in 2008 when they wrote ‘Vodka’ performed by Morena. The song failed to make the final in Belgrade.

The duo have joined forces once again, although in the French Selection, and they have brought on board Sean Vella and the trio have written the song that will be performed by Joanna entitled ‘Ma Liberté’.

Will the Maltese songwriters win the ticket to Copenhagen? That question will be answered on the 26th of January, when the three acts will fight it our for the French ticket on Les Chansons d’Abord.
