which is pretty much my order overall  as i'm not super hyped over winning entries from the past century (some exceptions being :lu: 65, :se: 74, :il: 78, :be: 86, 95 and :il: 98)

I have completely forgot Rybak winning, lol. I guess that cheesy 2nd attempt has overshadowed my judgement on him. But it was a great winner, maybe around my 3rd or 4th favourite winner this century. My favourite winning entries of the previous century are  1995 (Secret Garden!) & :fr: 1977 (L'oiseau et l'enfant by Marie Myriam). I never cared for Abba & Celine Dion victories.

According my tops goes like this:
:se: 2012 (Still 1st)
:at: 2014 (Still 1st but out of 37)
:ua: 2016 (2nd and has been my 1st!)
:se: 2015 (3rd)
:az: 2011/ :ee: 2001 (both 8th)

Yeah, I only marginally liked the 2010s for winners more than the 2000s (although I don't mean in any bad way, it's just that they didn't stand out to me/ I didn't see why they won) and  :de: was a particularly low point for me and I even started disliking Satellite more of the two but now I hate Fairytale more, I always much preferred his 2018 one!

While randomly listening to some random entries from the 80s I noticed how old most of the sound. They do not even siund like your typical music from the 80s but more like some grandma songs from the 60s / early 70s instead, lol. And rather not like those good 'grandma songs'. Also hardly any rock which surprised me as in the 80a rock music was super popular.

me when i got to the 90s where i expected lots of eurodance (for being super popular) and received a lot of folk ballads dljfjdslls
+ dated Abba-esque entries a la Slovenia '96 (yawn), it was dated by then already. And plenty of cheese ... schnooozy cheese.

I am not much into eurodance myself but it would make it more interesting.

1. 2009
2. :se: 2015
3. :fi: 2006
4. :rs: 2007
5. :at: 2014 (:nl: 2019 is actually on par)

I might add there is a difference between the songs that were my personal winners right from the start and the ones I wasn't into at first.

So the ones that were my favourites before the final and are also my #1 overall of that year are:

 2009
:se: 2015

The ones that I really loved but weren't my favourite of that year's edition:

:at: 2014 (it is in my top 5 2014 but not my #1)
:nl: 2019

The ones that weren't my favourite at the time they won:

:fi: 2006 (2006 is one of the only two contests since 1986 that I couldn't watch completely live because I was at a wedding (the other one was 2003). I missed Lordi's performance. I was a Lordi fan at the time - but didn't know the song they would perform. After they had won (I was at home shortly before the final points given) I was happy at first but a bit underwhelmed when I listened to the song in the second winner performance. I couldn't connect to it at once but my love for it develepoed later. My favourite before the final was Greece and Anna Vissi - one of the few songs I knew before the contest.)

:rs: 2007 (I couldn't believe it when this won because I found it mediocre... however, I really loathed the whole ESC year 2007 back then but it's now one of my most favourite contests ever! Time showed me the greatness of the songs.)
