For me overall the period from 2002 to 2008/09 was a complete diaster for the contest...

But here we go:
1. :se: 2012
2. :nl: 2019
3. :dk: 2013
4. 2009
5. :se: 2015, :ua: 2016 or :de: 2010

I also need to mention :fi: 2006 - the only winning song I listen to with joy from that period

For me this ranking is of the whole Eurovision performance, so the song and its staging.

:1: :se: Loreen – Euphoria – 2012
:2: :ua: Jamala – 1944 – 2016
:3: :fi: Lordi – Hard Rock Hallelujah – 2006
:4:  Alexander Rybak – Fairytale – 2009
:5: :rs: Marija Serifovic – Molitva – 2007

For me Duncan Lawrence with Arcade would be 6 and is lower because of the staging.

:4: :ro: Mihai Traistariu - Tornero- 2006

My top 5:

1. :pt: 2017
2. :ua: 2016
3. :rs: 2007
...
4. :at: 2014
5. :de: 2010

But I would just consider my top 3 tbh. "Amar Pelos Dois" and "1944" were my personal faves, and "Molitva" - composition-wise and performance-wise - was iconic. Not to mention it was (technically) a debut entry!

I was okay with "Rise Like A Phoenix", "Satellite", "Toy" and "Euphoria" winning, although there were better options on offer imo.

The rest I do not give a damn about. I hope 2021 will have a winning song I can get behind.

Who would you prefer to win in 2010? Let me guess ... Turkey, Armenia? I loved both.

1. :ua: Jamala - 1944 - 2016
2. :pt: Salvador Sobral - Amar Pelos Dois - 2017
3. Alexander Rybak - Fairytale - 2009
4. :nl: Duncan Laurence - Arcade - 2019

Rest comes far behind in terms of quality and creativity tbh. But if I had to choose:

5. :de: Lena - Satellite - 2010

behind you
in no particular order:

:gr: 2005 - Helena Paparizou - My Number One
:ua: 2004 - Ruslana - Wild Dances
 2009 - Alexander Rybak - Fairytale
:se: 2015 - Mans Zelmerlow - Heroes
:se: 2012 - Loreen - Euphoria

I have no clear winner here, they're all pretty much at the same level for me, maybe except for Loreen and Mans. On the other hand, what a shame that 2000-2002 have had such lame (imo) winners. That period in time had such potential...

Oh Turkey was good too, their result was deserved 100% imo. :) Something prevented me from getting into it, but I would not have been mad at them winning.

Out of the songs that made the top ten, I preferred Armenia and Ukraine (the latter being my number one that edition), but realistically it was not meant to be I guess.

The good thing with Satellite is that it sounded neither Eurovision-y nor like something we had heard before, so it had its merits. But, as far as I am concerned: Taken By A Stranger >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Satellite. Germany 2011 was ahead of its time.

I find your taste in music very similar to mine like per usual!

But I rate 2011 entry about equally vs 2010 yet 'Taken By A Stranger' definitely had a more well-thought performance to it. And yes, it was ahead of its time.

And 'Sweet People' of Alyosha was absolutely amazing, it is also one of my favourites.

1. :se: Sweden 2012 (Loreen)
2. :ua: Ukraine 2004 (Ruslana)
3:  Norway 2009 (Alexander Rybak)
4. :dk: Denmark 2013 (Emmelie de Forest)
5. :gr: Greece 2005 (Helena Paparizou)

Honourable mentions: :rs: Serbia 2007 (Marija Šerifović) & :tr: Turkey 2003 (Sertab Erener)

It's interesting to see how different members have different choices. Just shows how taste in music is very subjective.
While some prefer the latter period I haven't really liked any ESC-winner since 2013 (some are ok but nothing more for me).

can not get 5 countries together. xcookie
lordi 2006
lena 2010
loren 2012
and that's it!

i was often in tears with the second place like 2003,2004,2007,2014,2015,2016,2018 and the missed landslide win of MARUV in 2019 through silly circumstances.

In order, my five favourite winners of the century would be:

1. Portugal 2017
2. Austria 2014
3. Sweden 2012
4. Sweden 2015
5. Ukraine 2016

Should add that I've been happy with the winner every year since 2012, and Netherlands/Israel would be in my top 7. Overall I've much preferred winners this decade to those of the noughties, which I generally disagreed with (I only really liked Finland 2006, and I don't dislike Greece 2005 / Serbia 2007 / Norway 2009).

Ukraine 2016 was one I didn't really appreciate when the contest was ongoing, but it grew on me a lot.

Edit: Added in my rankings for the middle just because. (and also to test the spoiler function)
