For some reason I always feel like I should take time to get these things exactly right! My no.1 of all time is still 1998 even after eventually seeing every contest, I'm sorry but that's just hard to beat IMO! I suppose if I was to pick certain one or more from each decade 50s could be 59, 60s could be 68, 70s could be 72, 80s could be 1980 (88 close) and I suppose my 3 for 00s periods is between 01,04 and 09 but 2004 does have that underrated factor for me (and is a good transition being like now but not quite) and for 2010s periods is between any of 10-12, 2015/16 or 2018 so a bit wide open!

Considering everything... songs, organisation...

1. 2015 (too many great songs)
2. 2016
3. 2018
4. 2019

5. 2009

I mean, the more recent ESCs definitely had much better organisations, and the songs quality is so much better than in the past.

The 90s are for me the best years...

1. 1990
2. 1994
3. 1991
4. 1989
5. 1997
:eek:The 90s? Really? The only decade where I couldt find any edition worth mentioning... But I admit I do have some favourite entries from the decade...

I personally don't see how someone could not like Birmingham 1998, I admit I am just way too obsessed with that particular one(!) and it's my all-time favourite but the constant focus on really young audiences and only recent contests can kind of get on my nerves sometimes. Even if the audience is apparently currently mostly even younger than me maybe there's no reason why someone who watched in the 50s,60s,70s etc should be discounted either given how long the contest has been running.

This is not just song-wise but more about how I emotionally feel about the editions and my memories xgoddess

1. 2015 - It was just beyond everything and I think no edition will ever top that. Belgium, Estonia and Norway are still among my top 10 of all Eurovision songs ever and I remember all of the entries quicklier than I do from 2019 or 2018 or any other year because I was just so super into it. Another big reason 2015 was amazing fun was because two of my friends and me (we call each other "ESC Royals", don't ask) all had a huge crush on one contestant each and we supported them all another lol (again, don't ask hahaha). Crazy times.

2. 2013 - Yeah, another year that will always stay in my heart, because ... - help, I must sound like a boy-crazy little gal but why should I lie - I think I had one of my first majors crushes with Gianluca Bezzina. Also loved Zlata and so many others. I was a Eurovision fan long before but this year eventually made me Eurovision crazy.

3. 2009 - Norway, Iceland, ... many amazing and legendary songs (also had a little crush on Alexander Rybak like literally everyone else, but was so young and denied it).

4. 2016 - I registered here, met my bestie here, fangirled a lot about Jüri. Generally fell in love with a lot of contestants and songs again.

5. 2010 - I remember being so so happy about us winning, Germany was especially Eurovision-crazy that year and every evening I watched these Stefan Raab shows and loved it and became more of a Eurovision fan than I was already.

Mostly for sentimental reasons:

1. 2010 - I love their simplistic approach, great line-up, hosts, good memories.
2. 2017 - The year of my favourite winner.
3. 2012 - The line-up was so good
4. 2007 - The production was superb for their time, many crazy entries.
5. 2009 - It was such a big edition.

Honourable mention 2002 for being my first ESC.

As a fan of the Eurovision Dance Contest, an honoury mention for the two editions of that contest, of which 2008 is my favourite edition of any Eurovision competition!
